BB can be frustrating like no other game at times. To be really good at this game you need to play many more games... But don´t you worry, you´ll be getting better and better...

The first step toward wisdom is knowing that you know nothing.
Things to learn:
1. Basic Strategy and Tactics
2. Avoiding Obvious Mistakes
3. Avoiding Subtle Mistakes
4. Setting Traps and Clever Tactics
5. Avoiding Traps an Tricks by Your Opponent
6. Advanced Strategy
I've played 600 Ranked games, and I figure I've just about gotten to the end of Step 2, though I have occasional relapses.

Oh, and I went back and checked, I didn't win ANY of my first 12 games (just managed 3-4 draws).

This game is harsh for beginners and you are willing to make the effort to improve. Respect to you for that attitude. Welcome to FUMBBL!

Best piece of advice: Watch some of the great coaches play. A lot.

hey man we all start like you and this is a great game. this site will improve your skills greatly. my best tip is to adjust your gameplay after each game and dont just stick to the same game plan every time. that way you will learn faster. good luck man ;-D

All the advice given here is sound. I'd add my 2p, take or leave it as you will :)
Pick up your players before making any dice rolls. Don't Go for it unless you have to (when you need it to work, it's gutting when you fail - e.g. scoring) don't get into a fouling contest - if some guy fouls you, wait until the end of the half and foul them back, otherwise you're inviting them to do it again. Of course luckers will foul anyway and get away with it :S
Set your players up in a decent formation - I screw this up so many times and my goes surfing in the crowd unless I think about what I'm doing first :S
Don't give up!
11 wins and 7 draws in 26 games I think is pretty good - I'd be happy with that. Sounds like you just need to polish up and get the basics right by, as suggested, watching the best coaches play. I do, a lot, and try to learn as much as I can.
Still suck a lot of the time though :S
