Winifred looked at the spirits assembled as they waited to take the pitch. They had already faced plenty of adversity in their preseason matches, and they were as ready as could be to see what the Builder division would throw at them. With Fawndough’s Headband in her possession, it seemed destined to be a good day for their offence (if you don't know, this magic item card provides it's wearer the pass and accurate skills for one turn, but opponents get a +1 to intercept).
HAHAHA said Nuffle. T'was a turnover filled game for both sides. The Disapperators won the toss and elected to kick, and it seemed early on this was going to be another solid scoring affair as a failed block by the Half-Orcs gave the ghosts an opportunity. A successful block on a lone half orc created a gap that they flowed through to swarm the ball deep in The Hoarde’s territory. The ball would stay on the ground there for most of the half, as the wraiths one by one succumbed to failed leaps or blocks from the brutes into the KO bin. A failed pick up that would have led to an easy score swung the advantage back to the Hoarde, and more of her teammates were pummeled into the KO box. Overzealous blocking left her opponents with no one in scoring range by the time they had collected the ball, and Winifred hoped the half would bring back most of her companions.
One wraith recovered, so they set up one wraith on each flank with Winifred back deep to receive the kick. She retrieved the deep kick while one wraith went downfield. She hung back out of range of the Hoarde’s line, and grabbed Fawndough’s Headband for the next turn. A dodge by a spirit host blitzed the downfield wraith free, and she donned the headband and moved to a clear passing lane. Failed pass but reroll from the headband was successful. Snake eyes on the catch, and the chance to score folded in the slight breeze chilling the fan’s in the stands. Winifred was knocked out by one of the Hoarde’s brutes and spend the rest of the match in the KO bin with her teammates.
The Hoarde was able to snatch up the ball and secure a cage, setting themselves up to score. A failed block early in a turn provided an opening needed for a ghostly assist to a leap blitz from a wraith, knocking the ball free, but there were too many half orcs and not enough ghosts to form any sort of screen. A wraith failing the second gfi in turn 16 set up the Hoarde with a chance to score on a pass, but the catch failed and Nuffle laughed again. 0-0 draw.

Winifred awoke to find their coach had found another banshee to join the team, and for the first time since game one, there will not be a journeyman spirit host when they take the field against Down Lumber, and finally have all their positional players.
