The Disapperators (Ethereal) vs. Reborn Again (Demons of Tzeentch)

The opening kick saw the Disapperators kicking to the demons, who were able to quickly grab the ball and form into a cage. The induced chainsaw hurt himself on the first block, but in subsequent turns ended up KOing 2 spirits himself, and around turn 4 i went all in on attacking the ballcarrier and it failed, setting the demons up with an easy path to a turn 8 score with 4 ghosts in the KO box. 1-0 Reborn.

Matilda was able to grab the ball and complete a pass to Wini, but that was about all they could accomplish. The second half saw the KOd wraith return (we convinced him the chainsaw was really banned and wouldn't come back into play finally... coward) and Matilda collected the ball and headed to the south of the pitch, with Dzagun and two spirit hosts pushing downfield after setting up the blitz. The demons overcommited to stopping progress at the bottom of the pitch, and i saw an opening to push the ball up top, and as the last action of the turn a spirit host dodged like they are supposed to and marked the Lord of Change. With Reborn Again unable to get to the ballcarrier, and out of position, Matilda saw her chance. Dzagun leaped away from the Pink Horror marking him and floated to the endzone near the center of the pitch. Matilda rushed forward after a spirit host blitzed and pushed a demon out of her path and threw the ball to the wide open wraith, it's accurate, failed the catch with a reroll. Dzagun gets surfed (and this won the game for the Demons), but Matilda does a dodge, dodge, dodge, leap, pickup combination to score and tie the game at 1 after a couple more ghosts were KOd.

shorthanded one player (the KOd surfed wraith...), the demon's opening flurry of blocks left the ghosts down 3 players, and the chosen of Tzeentch had no problem pushing the ball downfield and scoring in turn 15. Horat was able to complete a pass and another ghost was badly hurt in the bottom of turn 16 for a 1-2 final to Reborn Again.

Dice stats tell the story, 17 successful blocks with 4 armor breaks for my team, and only one stab that worked for a stun. couldn't do much of anything and was shorthanded the whole game. in hindsight, if i'd not have gone all in in turn 4-5 on the ballcarrier i may have been able to make it tougher to score in the first half, but i felt i needed to do something to get the ball on the ground or otherwise out of the hands of a pink horror. just wasn't to be. got 60k and another bench spirit host, and Matilda and Dzurgan both leveled. Matilda rolled doubles, and i took pass for her. Dzurgan rolled a 6+4, and after a long internal debate, i passed on the move and armor for block, totally forgetting i was going to go wrestle/strip ball with him... Luckily for me, Nachtogen fixed this for me through a support ticket, so my +AG wraith now has wrestle, and i'm a bit more confident about being able to sack the ball next time. My plan with Matilda is to sit her on defense, and use her as a thrower, with the +AG wraith and my other banshee as her primary receiving targets. This will cut down on the hypnotic gaze i typically throw around, but this team is too squishy for me to risk her on the pitch on defense until she gets a couple more defensive skills. Really need to force touchdowns to the +AG wraith until his next level, and it won't hurt my feelings to feed Wini scores as well.

i really thought i had a chance to pull off the win, the 1 2 failed catch for a TD roll just killed me, and really made it easy for Reborn Again to get the win. I'm just glad i wasn't shut out again, and i'm relieved that Matilda finally started playing like an AG 5 piece should. Next up is my son's Tzeentch warriors in the bottom feeder bowl of the builder division. (think he's had a rougher go of it than i have just due to losing his changeling in game 1 and worse money rolls, but an argument could be made both ways...)

and there is something wrong with this bottom feeding team having the 3rd highest TV in the division... i'm just saying...
