Nurgle Experiment
The Nurgle experiment

Hi mate. Here is my team: No Mighty Blow Nurgle
What the hell is it?
Well it's a Nurlge team that do not bash. That means no MB, no PO and no Claw all over the team... and that means no Nurgle Beast (because of its built in MB skill)
Why? Because I wanted to try Nurgle but didn't want to create another team like tons out there. There's nothing wrong with all the Nurgle teams out there. C-POMB can be very fun if you use the right mood with and against it. Thus, do not let start an issue on it.But if I want to look for a Nurgle team that win trying to send out all opponent player, I can spectate a lot of them
I want to play Nurgle but I don't want to play a team already played thousands of times.
So I looked to the taeam roster and saw that with S and M access, you can do plenty of things, without be forced to use S for MB and PO and M for Claw. There is grab, stand firm, guard, two head, extra arm, foul apparence, disturbing presence... and the good old G skills
And thus, "No Mighty Blow Nurgle" was born.

The team is going really well (considering that I'm a weak coach, a 13/12/13 record is AWESOME). As it was predictable, I got bashed some times, even from a double claw-MB skaven, and one of my warrior name should be an hint: it's called "Big V", that means it was killed (or had to be retired for permanent injury) four times, and this is the fifth try.
But I've to be honest... I got helped by A LOT OF LUCK! I rolled 4 times +ST! Twice on a nurgle warrior (and you know what, this ST6 guy it's called "Huge"), and once for two pestigors! I never had to fire a not permanent injuried player, all rolls were for the luck. And I rolled a good double for worrior

And I've got a problem now. I want to test the real working of the team with all the teams out there... but agile teams seems to fear me. I always propose matches, but they probably read "Nurgle" and decline
As you see by the team stats I've played a lot of games vs dwarf and orcs, some with Lizardman, a couple with Chaos, Nurgle, Undead...
But agile teams? Only 3 vs Dark elf, 3 vs skaven...
Pleass friends, if you have an elf, an high elf or a wood elf team, look at the team name before you click "decline" for fear of MB... you'll have a nice time with my team (except for my annoying dice complaining, but do not read my moans, I blame dices even when I'm the lucky one)
I ensure you that when dice go normal (no crazy triple skull or double PD in a row or the like), my opponents said me they had a good time and we left the match both satisfied (no matter the final result)

Cheer my friends, let's see on the pitch!

the 3 tackle guies are as frightening for a regular elf coach as a clawpomb player. Not to mention the +ST surehands that makes your team unstopable for a non bash team. once your ST4 surehand guy has the ball, there is no reliable way a wood elf team can get him loose. i think this makes lots of coach not wanting to play.

I see your point... but... what skill do the agile teams take? Don't they take tackle too as quick as possible? After Block and Dodge? Don't you think that at 1700+ TV you know that your opponent team should have AT LEAST a couple of tacklers?

And by the way... do you really look so deeply a team before accepting/decline? I do it a littlebit at low TV when I have not enought money... but I only look on the gamefinder for the general amount of skill selection, not to the detail of who got what! Something like "Oh, 3 MB, 2 Claw, 2 side step, one +ST and 2+AG... nice team, let's try" and then I discover if the claw and MB are on the same player and if the +ST is the big guy or the crappy stunty

Do other coaches look your team roster that way? It's awesome!!!!

Cheer friends

A lot of elves in pickery ranked will decline if a team has more than 1 or 2 tacklers.

And a lot of people look at all of the rosters available on gamefinder, and only check the ones they think they could beat (also doing this based off coach rating or w/d/l record). Your team does have a scary ball carrier and too much tackle for some elf teams, is the point.

Thus I understand it isn't "Nurgle" that scare elf, but my team.
That make me proud, but sad. I'm doomed to play only vs bashers and some brave skavens...
I only hope to meet some elf in the fumbbl cup... with some of my players still alive :-D, and see how it work

A Ranked team proves nothing.
Play such a team in Black Box, then come and tell us how you are doing.

Heh so the dwarfs and orcs want to play you even though you win and the elves don't wanna play you even though they would win. :O

I have some dwarves that pretend to be elves, if that helps...

Very nice approach, I'd fully support it (if that meant anything)! :-)

By the way, the Disturbing Presence is kind of annoying as well for anyone who wants to pass a little. That's why Nurgle is one of my least favorite opponents for the Monsters. But your team is special and thereby not included into that list. ;-)

MattDakka... relax mate!
Considering ranked a "lesser level" of playing is... is... well I don't want to be rude, thus I don't say what I think about that.

I don't want to prove anything. I didn't say I wanted to prove anything

I wanted to share my feeling and my question about why elf coach don't want to play vs me. I wasn't trying to teach anything to anyone

Ignore Dakka's Blackboxian attitude, Ranked is a fair test of ability for teams and their players.

Problem with your team is that even though it's got no ClawPOMB it still terrifies the crap out of me, which I'm sure it does to other players too, that'll be why you won't get any Elfballers. One look at a ST6 guy capable of ball handling and they will be running away as fast as their pansy elf legs will carry them. :- )

Yeah... Dakka didn't like Qaz's logo either. Methinks he's just a grumble bunny today.

I think the concept is admirable. But I think the fact elf teams don't play you is the fact that it's a tight team that is looking to win, not just murder. I play elves and don't mind seeing them die if I think I can score enough early. So that theory makes sense.

Spanish & Italian coaches are always luck boxes ... it's just the way it is.

I was thinking this thing again...
Is there really people that do not play vs a team only because of an ST4 player?
What about the tons of ST4 sure hand bulls?
Does my pestigor is the only ball carrier that rolled +AG? And Vindaloo? Are you saying that there is people that never play vs humans if the sure hand thrower rolled +ST?
Bah
