does that mean we cant get it for free anymore :P

Well, since I don't believe in DRM and several coaches around here already have PDF versions with no password, copy protections, or anything of the sort...I wouldn't say that.

By the way, if any of you have read Firehurler want to just stop in on Amazon and leave a rating/review, that would also be awesome.
It's like leaving a tip, but costs you nothing =)
Posted by Rabe on 2013-02-03 16:26:35
Ewww... now I read the description and the extended description - and learned things I didn't know yet (having read only the first few chapters). :-(
Rated 6 anyway of course! Many congratulations! :-D

It's not available in the UK store? :).
Is there a reason it's limited to the US?
Posted by maysrill on 2013-02-03 16:32:35
You want the UK store?

(for anyone else, just go to your region's Amazon page and search for "Firehurler")

grats on your publication
Posted by maysrill on 2013-02-03 16:39:41
@Rabe - there's only so much you can do to describe the story without mentioning the premise. ;)
@Qaz - thanks :)

keep us posted maysrill. I'd like to purchase the paperback when released. (not a fan of ebooks)
Posted by Hitonagashi on 2013-02-03 17:41:59
Bought :).
I was enjoying it, but for some reason the Kindle app wouldn't let me import it on my phone, and reading a PDF book with the android default PDF vieer is a nightmare :D.
Congrats on publishing. I'll try and leave a review on Amazon when I've finished it.
Posted by maysrill on 2013-02-03 17:52:17
@Arktoris - Sure thing. I like a good book in my hands myself. The paperback will be available just as soon as we get it through QA. The process is a bit longer than for ebooks, but I didn't want to delay the ebook release.
@Hitonogashi - Thanks^2! Both for the purchase and the promise of a review. Both are just great!

I'll make a stink at the local bookstores to have them carry it!!... then I'll wait for it to go on clearance and snap it up ;)
Well done, mays.

Only just downloaded the pre-release and have only read a few pages. I like it so far but it's great news for you. Kudis for the discount!
Posted by Electric_Wizard on 2013-02-03 19:22:31
Congratulations on your release! :-)
I've read a few pages in the preview and enjoyed it.
Please keep us updated on the paperback, I'd prefer that much over a digital version.
Posted by maysrill on 2013-02-03 20:26:18
@ElectricWizard - I know the feeling. I didn't get into ebooks until I started looking to write. I'm old-school by default.
New books smell great :)
("new Kindle smell" doesn't have the same ring to it)

Congratulations!
I read all of the prologue and half of one chapter... but what a prologue it was ;D !!!
Don't let the fame get to your head.

Amazing feat mate. Well done for getting your dream come true :) I can see that you already started getting perfect scores on the Amazon :D I am a great fan of SF/F and I will surely read your book now that I know that a member of FUMBBL community has written it :)

Hm so thats with that pic :) Nice job, hope to come across it one day!
Posted by Shraaaag on 2013-02-04 14:00:39
I'll wait for the movie version, or the TV series (whatever comes first) :)
Posted by maysrill on 2013-02-04 14:42:20
@Shraaaag - Lengthwise I could see it going either way. It's about 250k words, which puts it a bit shorter than Game of Thrones, which ran for a full season on HBO. The trilogy on on pace to be 40-50% longer than LoTR, which spanned three (very long) movies.
Production values and unlimited budgets aside, I think a HBO-style series would better cover the material (I've considered the screenplay, and I'd have to cut a lot of it out I think). In any event, this sort of thing is years out at the least, and highly optimistic on top of that ;)
(like buying a lotto ticket though, the fun is in the speculation, not the probability of winning)

This is amazing!
Great job maysrill!
