First Ranked Victory, and the Woodies work at last!
Chuffed with myself today. Two massive fumbbl achievements in one session.
Firstly, Dental Hygiene notch up a 3-2 victory in a close fought match against fellow vermin, Warrentin Whitefurs. This marks my first victory in Ranked division! And I have to say, it felt bloody bloody good.
I think for the most part, it was down to keeping my stupid stupid mistakes down to a minimum. Perhaps I'm improving, perhaps I just got lucky, I don't know. And I don't care, :D.
Second massive achievement is a much more personal one... Following my victory with my skaven, I was then bombarded with yet more requests for a match using my woodies against every man and his dog's much stronger Chaos/Orc/Dwarf/Chaos Dwarf/Khemri (Delete which ever is appropriate) team. Now, I know people complain about elfballers turning down games against bashies, but, usually these seem to be the same people who boast about their Cherry picking exploits... I've been picked, and it hurt. Once bitten, twice terrified.
Having said that, I took someone up on a game, Oaky Dokes vs Chaos Dwarfs "Fat Sweaty and Dirty". On the basis that the team was actually at a TR/TS that didn't scare the bejeezus out of us.
Now, I can safely say, that I understand what it takes for me to win with a newish woody team... Bags, and bags and bags of luck. All the rolls that usually accompany my woodie team disappeared, and my 2+ dodges worked! WOOP! AG4 actually is worth the price for once.
I now declare myself champion and retire. Like Joe Calzaghe. Only I got beat. Lots.

I have to admit that I may go careful with my next opponents for my Academy Woodies. They've played 5 games so far and only have 9 playable players at the moment. I'd like them to get to 10 and maybe even to be able to afford a new Line-Elf. :)
