BBTime: do you know what Blood Bowl Time it is?
BBTime or Blood Bowl time is the official, timezone free, sitewide time system that enables all coaches to talk about time in the same way. When you post something, it shows up in BBTime.

If you are on IRC and type 'bb time', you get something like this:

neoliminal: bb time
[09:34am] Bowlbot: neoliminal: Mon Apr 01 17:34:30 CEST 2013

My local time is 09:34, but BBTime is 17:34.

The importance of this is pretty big because now you can talk to people in other timezones and be sure that your time and their time are the same time, because you are both talking in BBTime.

For example I have an opponent in a tournament who is in the EU. He is telling me the times he can play and I need to figure out if they match the times I can play. I've made a little chart for myself to see what my local times are in BBTime.

This page can be helpful in figuring out overlap in timezones. http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/meeting.html

There are a few caveats. For example BBTime does jump an hour in the summer since it's based on CET (UTC+1) and CEST (UTC+2). It just jumped a few days ago, for example.

It would be nice if there were an official clock on the website for BBTime to help people get the hang of it. FUMBBL Time or something. Maybe some adventurous admin will add the two lines of javascript and get it there.

In the mean time (no pun intended) you can always check out http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/ to see the current CET and CEST times.

For the record, I keep a list of available times in BBTime on my profile page.

Enjoy.

yeah a BB Time Clock on the site would be perfect

This has been mentioned several times. I would love some sort of BB time up here. I don't go on the chat that much, so I am oblivious without seeking the BB time. I now have a world click on my iPhone. I use that to figure out BB time. I am 8 hrs less.

you can even use the windows inbuilt (i am sure mac and everytinh else can do it too) additional clock for your taskbar

just remember BBtime is central european time CET, so the time zones of e.g. berlin, paris, madrid, brussels (it should change to CES(ummer)T then automatically

Every time DLST comes into effect I get confused and messed up. I've given the wrong time for games a few times now. Would love a BBTime clock on the site in the upper bar.

I have the great luxury of living in bbtime. =D

http://stackoverflow.com/questions/8207655/how-to-get-time-of-specific-timezone-using-javascript

This is code to get javascript to display time for a different timezone than the user has.

As for then running it like a clock (I would suggest only minutes) here:

all your time bb to us!

And for the love of Nuffle, please use the game scheduler feature of the website to propose and accept times, in conjunction with your PM's. Those of us 12 hours in the future would really appreciate it.

@Arasushnar... we do have a clock, sorta

just click the tab that says 'forums'
Posted by hale on 2013-04-02 02:24:49
what dunenzed said... i go to a lot of effort always messaging opponents when i can play and including on my coach profile my bbtime hours etc, then so often people just PM me back something completely stupid like 'how about tomorro round about 9pm' ... when it happens enough it makes you want to put your head through a sheet of glass

@Dunenzed & hale: To be honest I didn't really realise that people really used this. It seems like a pretty poor way to arrange a match to me.

Once the match is arranged then it is OK as a reminder but to actually arrange it I'd go PM or chat.

It's not Blood Bowl time, it's a command for BowlBot (bb) to give you the server time. [/pedant]
