“Penal League II

This match was great fun, despite me having very bad luck on the crucial events. It was just what I imagined when I designed the Penal League, with low rerolls and no apo forcing some different tactics.

The B-Block Bashers fans were fired up to the max and started the match by throwing a chair on "The Bloody Countess" before the match even started. Nobody can blame them for being gentlemen, but their niggling injury on the ice cold female convict sure sent the opponents a signal!

A fumbled pickup on a very offensive charge put the Bashers into a difficult situation and the Psychos could score first despite starting on defense. Sadly the thrower Slickl hurt himself on a failed dodge, leaving the Bashers without a skilled ball handler. This didn't stop them initially though and they managed to tie the match up through a quick burst through the Psychos defensive lines. "Peanut" ran in the ball in the last minute of the first half.

In the second half the Psychos were blessed by circumstances. They got a reroll on the kickoff and proceeded to make a completly insane TD. While lined up for two crowd pushes their ball carrying catcher managed to dodge himself through hard defenses and had a relatively short pass to another catcher waiting on the end zone line. Stressed from the pressure he missed the pass and threw the ball into the crowd. Sadly it ended up amongst the Psycho fans, who managed to throw the ball back into the hands of the catcher waiting on the end zone line. A truly fantastic TD that will go down in the Penal League history books.

The Bashers responded with another fast breakthrough, but "Running Man" Alvarez didn't live up to his nickname when he stumbled in the grass just inches away from scoring the TD. Fortunately the rest of his teammates managed to tie up opponents enough for him to get on his feet and run in the equalizer.

The match was far from over though. The Psychos once again moved down the flank, and just when they looked like they were about the boxed in for crowd pushes the ball carrying catcher broke lose, handed over the ball to the thrower who ran onto the offensive field and passed the ball to a waiting catcher on the end zone line. Another high risk maneuver without the support of rerolls.

The Bashers still had time to tie the match up, but luck wasn't with them in this match. "Billy the Kid" turned out catcher number two for the day who slid in the grass just when he was about to score a TD. In the final seconds of the match he got to his feet and through some desperate blocking another catcher got to the ball, but he missed the pass and time ran out.

Thanks for the match, keltic! Nuffle blessed you, but I was having so much fun that I didn't even had time to get irritated, hehe. It was a great match and I wish you luck in round 2!”
