“Penal League

The addition of a team of guards to the Penal League had set off some concern amongst the inmates, and it was a very cocky bunch of corrupted and arrogant guards that took to the field. But today they would learn that beating on prisoners inside the cells is not the same as beating them on the pitch.

The match started in a manner that everyone could except. Someone in the crowd threw a rock that hit one of the guard blitzers. The crowd cheered in delight!

The guards assembled themselves and made their way down the left flank while one of the catchers tried to sneak down the right. The B-Block Bashers have an eye for the game by now and caught up with them and caged them in. "Chrome" was sent off early, badly wounded by a kick to the back, but at the same time a couple of the guards were pushed off the pitch.

Things started to look bad for the guards and the thrower took a chance and threw the ball into the midst, missing and leaving the ball free in the grass. "Peanut" was quick to snatch it up and retreated back to find an opening before his charge. The Bashers dominated the bashing game and began to cut off the guards from each other, even injuring a couple of them, which enabled "Peanut" to run for the end zone line.

Sentinel Gias took a big chance when he dodged his way out of a cage, but he managed to slip in the grass just before reaching the ball carrier. The Bashers covered their ball carrier, but to a high price. Both "Prophet" and "Father" was injured. The later on a foul, which would turn out the only foul of the match. "Peanut" could safely stall and score in the last minute of the first half.

The second half paired 9 Bashers vs 8 guards. But the corrupted guards had the ref on their side and he allowed them to line up a perfect defense.

The Bashers had to rush in to cover the ball, but a failed pickup left an opening for the opponents. Sentinel Augustus risked his life on a daring raid, dodging to the left and right and managing to snatch the ball up, but he didn't reach far before "Don" charged into him, smashing his ankle with a savage kick and leaving the blitzer crippled on the pitch.

The Bashers got control of the ball and after some trouble managed to hand it over to "The Kid" for a second TD.

With one quarter of the match left 9 Bashers remained on the pitch vs 6 rather beaten up guards. A good kick left the ball out of reach for the guards, who slipped when they tried to sprint for it. A great chance for a third TD was wasted by fumbled pickups and a poor throw, but at least the Bashers maintained control over the ball for the rest of the match and could walk away with a 2 - 0 victory.

Sadly the team captain Leonard "Father" Wilks picked up an age niggle on his first skill roll, which will set the generally quite unlucky Bashers back a bit.
