“The Pirate’s players were seemingly more excited about this dark elf derby than the fans. A low turnout of supporters from the Dark Bay resulted in the total domination of the Secrets’ in the stands. Not so, on the field however.
After receiving the first kick-off the Pirates, a bit tense in the early stages of the game, managed to fumble up their intended play and lose the ball. This mishap landed the ball in a big crowd of dark elves, finally resolved late in the half. A spirited and determined run by Bashraq Mistblood took the Pirates up in a 1-0 lead.
At the following kick-off, the Secrets’ player Ghengis took out some of his frustration on Pirates’ Firrt Ragash, sending him off with an injury. The ref, oblivious to the fact that Ghengis kicked the prone player where he shouldn’t, let the violent assailant continue the match. The crowd did not object…
The second half took on a similar character to the first, only this time it was the Secrets’ turn to fumble up their drive. Once more the ball ended up on the ground, surrounded by both teams’ players. Although the ball was deep in the Pirates’ half, the visitors from Dark Bay once again drew the longest straw. After several attempts from both teams, Pirates’ Vierna Slowdeath managed to pick up the ball and pass it onwards to Zyrach Blackwound. Blackwound more or less copied Mistblood’s run from the first half and drove home 2-0 to the Pirates. This result stood out the match, although the Pirates was closer to 3-0 than the Secrets was to 2-1.
Not the kind of match you’d expect from two elf teams, but an even and exiting game nonetheless. ”
“After a second loss the Secrets looked in trouble, but Owner Phil De'Man refused to be down and out:
''We played well, but just got a bit carried away at times, the fans are still with us(mostly under lock and key) and continue to 'support' us, so no trouble there, but the single Pirates fan who turned up to the Secret Isle today was wrung dry of valubles, so we need to get some more support up''
The game started well for the Secrets, with the ball quickly falling to the middle of a scrum, which remained in a stalemate until, late in the second half, a Pirate made a dash to the End Zone completly free. Madison tried a late blitz, but was denied by the mud on the ground.
Luckily for the secrets the ref beleved Phil De'Man's story of a mysterious winged stranger with a small mallet attacking Firrt Ragash on the floor instead of the far more ludicrus story of an annoyed Ghengis putting his boot into Firrts career, as the Pirates Blitzer went off with a damaged back at the end of the first half.
the second half strted with Caligua tripping over his own hands with the ball, and quickly developed into another scrum at the far end of the field, Hephastus made a spirited attempt to make a break for it, but was ruthlessly foiled by a foot poked out by a Pirate on his run.
The Second Pirate TD was a complete farce, with Secrets falling over (litrally) left right and centre to get to the ball, but to no avail, at the end of the day, it was a close fought game, and both coaches left the game on good terms.
the reports involving Mynock, a small saucepan, and an exploding marsh troll in Pirate colours are all completly unfounded and Mr De'Man does not wish to comment, thank you”
