#7 Faceless Hunter – Smashed Knee (NI)
Here the Villains faced a more efficient Necromantic team, and our skilled zombies couldn't quite pull their weight in a tough brawl.

First half we were holding them back at halfway but were spread across both sides of the pitch. It was looking ok but when Son of Draknil didn't keep back and then was tripped up trying to dodge back from a Wight we were left open and they could blitz through our flank. One Golem held three of our players while the other superstar Golem helped control a flank and was on surfing duty. They past us and comfortably scored t8.
Second half we moved a little over halfway and really slogged it out. it was real tough to advance much and they had Wolves waiting behind. However we could have made it perhaps were it not for an unnecessary block that when failed allowed a Wolf through to blitz and knock down the rookie ghoul. The ball was traded a couple of times with a Wolf eventually getting it at and going to their end while our blocking was letting us down. It looked lost but space was made for Switchblade and he managed to escape another shadowing Wolf and blitz down the carrier in a great play! But he needed to stun it really and it got up and was joined by a Necro Wight. Switchblade pushed the Wolf out of the way. He then needed a dodge, pick and dodge to score but he was tripped down and stunned by the Wight. That was it, game over other than the Wolf and Wight delightedly passing the ball to each other, while our rookie ghoul was killed.
We did make a massive 61 blocks (they also did a hefty 48) but couldn't deal the damage we needed to have a chance to deal with the stand firm/frenzy/high move options they had. Plus a couple of positioning errors and maybe unnecessary blocks didn't help. Still it was a good match and we did get close to the equalizer. We will return.
