Here the Villians faced Chaos. I decided with this match up I could use Knut to receive with his ag4 and wouldn't need the sure hands of Kraklow. However I didn't realise it was raining!Rain not really noticeable on the grey pitch. We then started the match with having to rr double skulls on the first hit and then Knut dropping. Next turn a rr was used by Knut but he still dropped. He eventually picked up but we were not in good shape. A zombie also regen'd from death. But still we had players forward and Knut advanced. He went in to space but a dodgy beastman blitzed and stunned him! There was then some to'ing and fro'ing and a Chaos Warrior dodged out and took down Kraklow who had the ball. The Chaos took it and they had a successful defence. Our ropey drive wasn't good enough.
Next half we set up 11 v 10 but our line was hit down and two zombs were taken out straightaway. The Chaos had their own drop at the back and we charged players forward. Quickfingers Murphy had to regen damage but Kraklow got round to hit their carrier out of the match. But he was not protected and so couldn't make the most of it. Their Warrior Joe got the ball back and we couldn't get it back off him. The Villains were struggling with players down but in our half the Wights dodged out and double teamed the warrior to the floor. The crowd then passed the ball back and forth several times until eventually it went to the other flank! It seemed at least we had perhaps done enough for a 0-0. Scoring looked unlikely. To keep the match safe we needed Knut to do a 2+ dodge, push a beastman with a 2db and then mark a warrior. But a 1! Then in the final SoS turn a beastman saw a longshot in the rain. A 4+ 5+ 4+ required later and he pulled off a long pass to the waiting warrior who caught the wet ball after rushing (gfi) into the endzone for their last action! A great play.
A gutting way to lose the match but our Villains were just coming up a bit short for much of the night. The Mountain did manage two cas but Mumm-ra spent a lot of time butting heads and falling over with Beastmen. Must train him harder.
