“First match without our superstar ag4 ghoul, with no recognised ball carrier and of course for the first time in ages we come up against a team with leap, strip ball in their arsenal. It was always going to be tough to avoid defeat against these talented Wood Elves unless we could hit hard early. We couldn't. The Welves quickly swept up the flank with a catcher scoring. Duke Death, s4 Wight, then took the ball on for us. The Mountain was enjoying his strength advantage over the Treeman though it took a foul from Seal to eventually ko it briefly. Duke Death then tried to move across the pitch in cover but snaked his gfi! After moving bodies over it the ball bounced to an Elf. He was taken down but it just bounced to another waiting Elf. They were away then for a very comfortable 2nd TD. Quickfingers did though kill a Wrestle Elf who now joins the Villains! Seal wracked up another 2 casualty fouls before half-time.
2nd half we were 2 players up. Our improved hitting continued but Kraklow, the ghoul, couldn't get his debut TD as he was brought down twice, 2nd time ko'ing him. Duke Death did manage to stumble over the line with the ball to score. Mumm-ra also badly hurt their Wardancer. We had faint hopes for turning the ball over next defence until we saw all the KO'd players return. The Welves got through our line when Faceless Hunter tripped up. The ref didn't seem bothered about our fouls after we gave him a bribe. Though he did take exception to Walking Dead's very poor gang foul effort on the Treeman at the end of the match.
With 49 blocks and 8 fouls thrown by us it seems the Elves were fortunate to get away virtually intact for their FUMBBL cup preparation. They will be a hard side to outscore.”
