In our first drive defence we didn't take advantage of our induced fouling options, partly as we made few takedowns. But a solo Elf managed to foul cas Kraklow! The ref ignored it. They did an incredible stall where we seemed unable to force our players near the ball. After that failed defence Seal, Bupkiss and Yggardis all did fouls, and were sent off for some of them. No big damage but did KO some elves.
The Woodies managed two perfect defences and two blitzes when kicking today! For the first blitz there was a short kick where their legend catcher risked a big hit to catch the ball. He survived the Duke's blitz, managed to sidestep back and then brilliantly the ball bounced to their half. On the 2nd blitz they did a perfect kick in the end zone which they were able to reclaim after the Duke was taken down. They also had got rid of all our ghouls by early in the 2nd half. It was a perfect performance.
We did get some stronger hitting going from about turn 6 onwards, including Mumm-ra dealing our a permanent hip injury and a kill. But particularly their Wardancers kept hitting back consistently too. In fact with few numbers late on a Wardancer with support even blitzed and cas'd the Mountain!
Overall we weren't that bad, but the Elves were just magnificent.”
