“Another set of Nurgle foes today. I cleverly put in 40K treasury to actually reduce the amount of inducements we received. :D

We received. Some outrageous fans stunned the Mountain and a Bloater with rocks. Seal was soon cas'd by their Rotspawn. We had a good battle across much of the width of the pitch. Fortunately our Ghouls in their half could dodge the blows of their tackleless players. The Mountain also KO'd a star Bloater. Kraklow made his way through a gap but had to evade the blitz of a two headed star Pestigor. There was a sequence of failed hits from both sides and eventually Kraklow was able to dodge away to escape and score.

In their return they pushed some receivers forward but we were able to deal with them in the little time remaining in the half.

Second half their dirty Rotter was sent off for fouling Rot Zombie off the pitch. There was another good battle near the centre of the pitch. When a Nurgle block failed (double skull) Yggardis saw his chance to win the game by blitzing down their carrier. But he double skulled too and was KO'd! But eventually as we pushed their play more towards a flank a zombie and Ghoul Drake Dubb took their carrier down. Though we couldn't get quite as much support as we wanted with their Rotspawn holding up 3 players with tentacles! Plus both Mumm-ra and Werdna had to regen block damage. Their superstar got the ball back and it seemed with extra player numbers would get through. But a Bloater double skulled when trying to move Whippet from marking the carrier. So then Whippet and the dodging Drake took the superstar down again. This time KO'd! The victory was saved.
A good match, where some blocking fails were crucial.
