Not all High Elves are natural born Bloodbowl players but all High Elves are rich and even if they don't have the skills for it they can always buy their position on a poor, struggling Bloodbowl team. Royal Fumble is the product of a manager who couldn't attract any sponsors so instead he attracted rich Elves with more money than talent. It's a perfect solution. The proud High Elves pay for the privilege to play in a pro enviroment and the fans pay for the privilege to see snotty High Elves get beaten up on the pitch. That way, everyone wins!

The biggest donors get the best equipment, protection, training and medic care. So it's no wonder the most succesful and longest-living players tend to be the richest ones too.
