All hail Shin-Goji! What IS Twisted Kaiju Theater? Quite simply, you're soaking in it. TKT is my own creation, a webcomic openly ripping off Twisted Toyfare Theater from Toyfare Magazine. I use Godzilla Toys from my own extensive collection and rearrange them in compromising positions for your amusement. What does KAIJU mean? Kaiju is the Japanese term for monster, but refers to a genre of monsters seen in Japanese films as well. The monsters the Power Rangers fight can be considered Kaiju. Other Kaiju movies include Godzilla, Rodan, Mothra, King Kong, Reptilicous, Digimon and others. Film genres like Power Rangers, Ultraman and Spectreman fall under a category called Sentai, which is about angst-ridden teenagers who dress up in tights to combat kaiju. By comparison, it's more accurate to call Kaiju like Godzilla DAIKAIJU, or giant monster. |
