Prologue - 0 Games: Deep in the bowels of the metropolis of Naggarond, there was a temple. This temple was dedicated to a lesser known diety called Pitran, god of nothing. This god controls the vacuums of space and has constantly tried to fill the world with nothing, which angers the other gods, including the gods of Chaos, so much that they banned him from their presence, for if there was nothing, the other gods would have nothing to rule. Thus, he is only known only by few for the gods of Chaos have tried to wipe his name out of existance. The temple is run by a sect that knows of him and worships him. They are especially cruel and immoral, for they believe that if nothing existed, the universe would be perfect. They constantly wait for the coming of their patron god and the day he will rise up and create universal nothingness... After many "incedents" in the city, it became clear that this sect of Druchii were even too depraved and evil for their own culture. So their own king, Malekith, has banned their temple from Naggaroth. He has told them that they can only return if they become a famous and successful Blood Bowl team. Now, they roam the countryside, playing games with whatever opponent is daring enough to challenge the team, for a match against this team is like playing the god of nothing himself... Chapter One - Games 1-4: They sought out opponents who would play them. Their first match was versus a Hafling team which they won, 2 - 0. Their following increased and Ramquine, always faithful, became faster. However, Quintas fell to a Treeman and his hand got smashed while trying to protect his face. He would have to miss the next game and recievd a niggling injury. They recieved enough money to buy an apothecary, however. Some members of the team didn't know why they had one, since Pitran should protect them and if not, the injury would be in the name of Pitran. The next game was versus High Elves. They ended up tying the match 1 -1, which angered Malekith, who wanted the High Elves to be destroyed. Thus, the team was further out of his grace and it became more apparent that he would not let them back in soon. However, after this one, Airtris, the overall hero of the match, learned Guard and Haplin learned Block. After that, they sailed the ocean to new lands and encountered a Norse team en route. The ensuing game was being observed by the gods of Chaos. They had decided that it was time for the faithful to Pitran to suffer. Four badly hurts later, they lost 2 - 1 and Onchi fractured his leg while Selcott fractured his hand, but was saved by the apothecary. However, they recieved enough money to contract Egatim, the first and new blitzer, and Jadminth and Onchi learned new skills. The team's losing streak was extended another game. In their game versus an Undead team, there were so many casualties, it was hard for the other team not to score. They lost 3 - 1 and only had three players on the pitch when the other team scored their third touchdown. However, Egatim, the rookie blitzer, learned a new skill and only Farthion picked up an injury that would roll over to the next game. The team was obviously being punished by Pitran, but he would forgive them as he spared their lives and health. However, the fans did not forgive the team as some fans left the Guard after that performance. And the team did not forgive itself either. They all took a vow not to talk until the start of their next match in order to focus and practice and pray better. This trend, started by Ramquine, helped them become more like a team and thus earned a re-roll as a result. |
