MMA is fantastic. I also agree with Ansalon. The judges made a mistake here.

I'm a massive Machida fan, but he didn't win the fight. He knew it too, he was in mental conflict during the interview...
Shogun gainsed a lot of respect post fight by the way he remained respectfull and courteous. A lot of fighters would have had a meltdown over that decision.

As any one else I was disgusted by the decision. But when you post spoilers you should really include that in your title so people who has not watched the event wont get it spoiled.

@pythrr MMA is the best damn sport there is!

Close fight. Shogun just shaded it. Should have got it on aggression if nothing else.
rematch \o/
In the meantime we could have Qaz vs Pythrr over one 10 minute round :)

I was left in shock at the end of that fight standing with my hands in the air for Shogun. What a joke.

Monies?
I was thinking one crate of beer guaranteed plus a bonus crate for the winner. Maybe throw in a few miniatures and a couple of mars bars.
Each crate would contain no more than 24 0.5l tins/bottles. You can haggle over the brand of beer.

It was a close fight and I can see how a lot of people felt that Shogun deserved the decision...if it were a regular fight. As it was a title fight I didn't see Shogun do enough to win the belt from Machida....to become the champ you have to win the title decisively. It was a close decision but the fact that Machida is the champ is what likely pushed it in his favor.

I completely agree. Shogun took the first two rounds, and while the last three rounds wrre tight, no way did Machida take all three of them.
Adambomb... you don't have to win decisively to be the champ I'm afraid. It would be nice, but 48-47 is enough, and i feel that's at least what Shogun earned.
