I wonder where religion ranks on there
Posted by Dominik on 2014-03-29 23:09:54
What if someone starts a discussion about rationality?
Posted by harvestmouse on 2014-03-29 23:29:43
The only reason skill thread discussions are that high is because it's all recycled material or copy and pasted from skill files in the help section. So that's an unrealistic percentage.
Posted by JimmyFantastic on 2014-03-29 23:46:17
Religion cannot be rational by definition.
Posted by Purplegoo on 2014-03-29 23:48:58
So much of the skill pick stuff is far from rational, sensible or believable... :)
Posted by Wreckage on 2014-03-30 01:57:18
Dude... what is even your problem...
Posted by LucaAnt on 2014-03-30 03:17:06
You forgot the boobs!
Posted by Lorebass on 2014-03-30 03:26:00
Pie is omitted as well, for shame.
Posted by Anzelak on 2014-03-30 03:34:24
@Lorebass. Pie is necessary when there's a choice? In a poll for example. How is it necessary here in my research document?

@Wreckage. I've responded to your PM :).

@Everyone else. I sincerely hope you're all wrong. If I fail this assignment it's back to working as a Galaxy Trucker for me.
Posted by Lorebass on 2014-03-30 05:37:16
Sir needs to learn moar about pie!
Posted by Jeffro on 2014-03-30 07:35:18
This is ridiculous. Charts without pie?! Someone take this boy to the South and have him shot...
Posted by Throweck on 2014-03-30 08:55:14
Galaxy Trucker? I am training to be a Galaxy Ranger. Remember them?

No guts, no glory!

You forgot to include side rules discussions. That percentage would be somewhere around -20% ;)
Posted by Balle2000 on 2014-03-30 15:08:58
Now everyone is wondering "what's Wreckage's problem?" :D
Posted by awambawamb on 2014-03-30 15:25:29
you forgot "naming and shaming" discussion.
Posted by Wreckage on 2014-03-30 19:59:37
"Now everyone is wondering "what's Wreckage's problem?" :D" - Balle2000, his constant whining about politics and what he percieves to be rational.

time for a new blog entitled...

"what's Wreckage's problem?"
Posted by Anzelak on 2014-03-31 09:58:57
And here's what I wrote to you Wreckage:

Hi Wreckage,

I'm honestly not pissed :).

My blog was directly in response to plenty of statements, seen in this blog and on your own that aren't rational.

If you scroll through some of the rubbish written there, you'll probably be able to see that it isn't aimed at you. It isn't aimed at anyone specific anyway.

I'm all for lively debate. Of course, you're right. These things are worth talking about. I just don't think FUMBBL's blogs are the place for it. I think the response of the community to two very tense topics is proof of that. That's my point. The percentage chance of rational discussion when it comes to politics on this site is close to 0%.

I'm certainly not pissed though.

Jimmy, the opposite of faith is not reason, it is doubt, or skepticism. Most people I know who you would call "religious" arrive at their faith very rationally. On the other hand I also know a great many irrational skeptics.

Oftentimes as humans we ascribe irrationality to those who disagree with us. Politics and religion lie so close to the roots of our personal and collective cultures that we tend to respond to those topics emotionally first, and may never get to reason at all.

There. Maybe Anz can bump it up to 0.05% now.
