Yeah! Have fun! It comes with LRB4 rulebook! Enjoy! :)

It's a second hand so I doubt it's LRB4 (right?)

Excellent! If you're ever in (the position to come to) Amsterdam or Utrecht I could hook you up with our tabletop leagues.

Rated 6 for your thinking! :D

Actually unless someone printed a PDF and put it in I think its 3rd edition rulebook it ships with not even a LRB.
Treasure it still as that's got all the fluff and history they took away when they released CRP.
Have fun painting.

The earlier deep boxes (~3 inches tall) had the 3rd edition rulebook, I think the later, thinner boxes (~1 or 1 1/2 inches) came with 4th ed or 4th Gold, which isn't the same as LRB4.

Yup earlier ones came with 3rd ed. None came with 4th, I think some came with Gold for a bit. I believe later ones came with an early lrb, but that's from memory.
There were definitely 2 editions though as xnoelx said, based on the box size. I have both, and investigated this, however I've long forgotten the result.

Yeah, likewise, I have one of each box (plus 2 Death Zones), but my later edition one was ...acquired... from a GW store and came without any rulebook. I knew it was one of the versions of 4th; if you say it was Gold, that's good enough for me. I didn't know some came with an LRB though, if that was the case. But then that would've been during the period I wasn't playing.

Nice! In my humble opinion, painting miniatures is the closest you will ever come to Zen, bar playing Wipeout XL on a PS1. Be sure to check out some of the many paint guides out there!

It doesnt come with LRB4, they all come with LRB 1.3
they never updated it after that.

though if 2nd hand it may just be 3rd ed. Obviously it depends on when the owner bought it.

Painting miniatures brings me one step further towards being a real nerd (or even bigger nerd). Something I've been able to carefully balance so far. I've got a skaven team that needs finishing. I painted them at a friend so all I brought was a brush. Now I feel like I should perhaps get some stuff myself but it feels like moving over to the dark side. ;)
Zen you say mmmmmm?
