Hello o/
I painted up a box o' Halflings this week, here they are at the signing-on buffet.
The little chaps are terrifically excited to be joining the Treemen already rostered.
The smaller of the two metal Treeman was obtained second-hand in the 1990's. The only model in my Halfling team; the rest were cardboard tokens rampaging round my homemade pitch. The big 'un I bought recently to make up the classic Marauder Miniatures pairing.
I'd encourage everyone to give painting a go, it's a nice chilled way of enjoying the hobby. If you are wondering where to start here is a quick guide to how I did these models over four sessions:
Session #1 Assemble with plastic glue, sand PVA'd to bases, and rattle can primer Black, then zenithal Wraithbone.
Session #2 Speedpaint yellow, green. Contrast white, and contrast flesh. The flesh was a few different layers essentially (i) Guilliman Flesh (ii)highlights/details (iii)glazed with thinned Guilliman Flesh.
Session #3 Highlights/Details - I used pale yellow for both the yellow + green highlights. Metals were Leadbelcher base with Mithril Silver highlight. Black speedpaint for shadows.
Session #4 Eyes/Bases. Those tiny Halfling eyes! bright LED lamp, held my breath and painted them in. They are pinky white whites, with dark brown pupils. Teeth, fingernails, bandages etc. got final highlights. Transfers transferred. Stamped out leaves with GreenStuff World cutter (they might turn brown, I don't mind), glued on flock, bits of slate etc.. Finally this morning I gave them a matte varnish.
I've a few painting projects on the go - a mix of classic, current, and third party teams which I'll post up once completed.
Thanks for reading, enjoy your Blood Bowl
