Revised inducement phase and impact on ressurection leagues/tournaments
As you are probably aware the Designer's Commentary from Novemeber 2022 introduced a change to how inducements are purchased for league games.

This change is currently in the last testing phase and will hopefully go live in the next days (no more overdogging etc.).

For ressurection style games (NAF, Super League, ...) the inducements need to be handled in a different way. So far it was working implicitly as petty cash and treasury were just available. This is not the case any more.

Currently the client can not tell if a game is ressurection style or not so in order to not break things we needed to make a few changes. So the upcoming release will support to new game options (which still need to be added to rule sets by Christer).

inducementsAllowSpendingTreasuryOnEqualCTV

Name is a bit clunky and the description will likely be a lot snappier ;-) This option allows teams to purchase inducements from their treasury if they have equal CTV. This will be off for e.g. C division as that is what the rules seem to suggest, no inducements for equal teams. But in ressurection format this is still needed.

inducementsAlwaysUseTreasury

With this on, teams will always use ONLY their treasury for inducemnts and not petty cash. Will also be off for C division etc.

These two options together should make sure inducements work properly for ressurection games. So once the new release is out, they need to be checked in the rule sets.

I will PM the people running big resurrection leagues etc to give them a heads up and inform them once the release is live so hopefully there will be little or even no games are affected. In case you can't buy inducements after the release get your game reset by staff and inform your league commissioner.

Also if you know of a resurrection league that you think should be notified add the commissioner names to the comments and I will add them to the PM.

Thanks for the incoming update of the Inducements phase, looking forward to it!

When it is rolled out, could we get a play-by-play of the steps that take place when the client deals with the inducement phase, say, in the C division? eg: A) The client let's over-dog purchase inducements from treasury while under-dog waits. B)..

And then, for currently running custom leagues, will these new inducement options be tick boxes in the rule-set, and what will their default setting be upon creation? Meaning, if we want to use the same rules as C division, will we need to go in and tick or un-tick the new boxes before the next league match is played?

Thanks for these changes. So impressive that FUMBBL keeps up with all of these fast and furious changes as BB2020 expands. You guys rock.

A detailed step-by-step explanation of Inducements phase in C division would be nice indeed.

There is not that much to describe actually ;-)

Default behaviour is:

If both teams have equal ctv before buying inducements neither team gets the option to by anything.

Otherwise the overdog can buy inducements from their treasury. Once that is done, inducements are added to the team and are visible in the client's menu.

Then the underdog gets to buy inducements for a budget equal to the initial difference in ctv and the sum spent by the overdog. No treasury is used.

That is how the C division will work.

The new options will be part of the rule set and disabled by default. So if you want to use the same rules as C division (with progression etc ) you should not need to do anything.

Only leagues that use resurrection/non progression need to check these two new boxes.

So if anyone wants in on that PM where I will notify league admins once the release is done, add a comment here.

Worth noting for all custom rule-set managers, if you want to use the newly modified 'Throw Teammate' rules (not a turnover hitting the opposition) you need to go in an UN-tick that box.'

"Throw Team-mate
X Cause a turnover if an opponent player is hit by a thrown team-mate.
Hitting team-mates always causes a turnover."

Thx The_Murker - that would be a great mailing list, too: 'changes to C ruleset'
