Killed by Chaos.
So anyway, just happened to be in the box with my human team and this happened...

An utter Shalacking

So.... I'm probably going to retire my human team. Don't know. No, I know, I probably will. But I'm thinking about putting out a bounty on this team Wu Tan Clan. What sort of reward should I offer? How long should the option remain open. These are things to deeply consider.

I think you should have to wax your arse if someone retires that team. Plus a $20 donation to Fumbbl.

An ass-waxing? Seems appropriate but a little more painful than I had planned. Maybe $100 sans waxing? Still have to figure out a way to ensure there is no collusion though.

Box is the glory hole division. If you want to only play claw teams, Box is for you.

If want to play anything else, Ranked is for you.

If you try to reverse this, you deserve the frustration you get.

You have a decent amount of funds to buy new players so why not keep the team. Maybe write a bit of background for them.
Ignore Arktoris's cynical comments above.

lol @ Arktoris.

I guess we know which side of the gloryhole poor CanvasBack was on this time.

Humans are fun to play but I'm not going to go back to them anytime soon.

Ghost Faced Killer: 8 blocks. 7 cas.

Anyone fancy a change?

out of curiousity I went through and made note of what skills were necessary to get each CAS:
MB&Claw, none (self-inflicted dodge fail), Claw, MB, PO, Claw, Claw&PO&MB, MB, MB, Claw, MB, none (self-inflicted, chose Skull on last 2d block)

In this case, without the killer build, there would have been 2 CAS rather than 11. Amazing.

RECOVER! We all get our asses kicked at some point, all of us are 1 game away from total destruction! It's the recovery that creates legacy teams, not retirement!
Posted by PaddyMick on 2015-06-03 10:12:19
What gary said. Three new blitzers: 270k and you've then got 11 healthy players and 120k in the bank. Why retire?
Posted by frogboy on 2015-06-03 10:13:15
Looks like an awsome game to watch, going to run the replay in a bit still, thanks for sharing.

Your team looks healthy enough to me, so you've got a few miss next games and a few injured. It's hardly crushed your team. Score was 3-2 to chaos so you got to ask yourself what would the score have been if the chaos team hadn't bashed it's way to victory.

:(

On one hand Calcium is right. The team has money in the bank. It could easily fire the gimps and be a decent low TV team. As it get's older the chances to drawing a big basher increases though.

On the other hand. The chaos team were clearly a bash first team. They hoped to remove players from the field and stroll in for the score when there is no defence left.
If that is the game then you may as well be using chaos yourself.

Bounty=FUMBBL donation.

Look on the bright side, you've made the top spot on his 'Top Hits List'- congrats!
Posted by ImpactedAnimal on 2015-06-03 13:54:42
You have indeed made it to the top of the hits list - I don't think ive ever inlicted so much carnage in one game... Anyways, if it's any consolation, one of my killer warriors got niggled in the following game and, inevitably, the team will be torn up soon I am sure - particularly with a bountiful crosshairs on our backs :)

In other news here are some of my favourite beatdown moments of chaos killer teams for you:

You have enough gold to rebuild your team, and your team is called Phoenix Rising Stars III, so it would be fluffy as well, no need to retire it.

I watched the match, it was a good game, nice to see the humans not giving up and really pushing the chaos team to make him work hard for the win.

Chaos team had a great first turn mind, that first blitz was golden, not sure I would have stalled being in that position ? Also thought the Chaos team didn't maximise optimal blocking potential/crowd serfs or fouls. Some of them pushes with the "Grab" Warriors looked a little weak, might have to watch it again to see if I can work it out. But was a good game to watch :D

Good point about the name MattDakka! Althouhg... creating a new team called Phoenix Rising stars IV would be about equally fluffy. =D

I have to admit I'm pretty impressed by ImpactedAnimal's response to all this. Problem is, unlike in a league, there is almost zero chance to reciprocate an experience like this. While I appreciate that everyone has their ups and downs and that starting off with Chaos is a long grind before they get good, it still sucks to be sitting there and basically be someone's electronic punching bag. I thought about conceding, especially after I only had 5 players left. But then, an extra MVP and even more winnings would have gone on to the Wu Tan Clan team, and what ever enabling happened up to that point would only have been enhanced. The final block 2d thrown 2d against was frustration and the sense that here at least, I have the option to DO something.

As far as my team, I retired it. It's true, I had the cash to restart it and the upshot was the ogre had skilled in the game. But whatever "safety" measures there are for starting teams in the Box, they were clearly off for this team. Better to rise from the ashes with a different lineup altogether and see if I can get the right combination of skills in time to at least be able to defend myself. But that won't be for awhile.

As far as Box vs. Ranked goes, same shit different day as far as humans are concerned. In ranked, the lighter teams won't play you and the bash teams will light you up the same way. The first two Phoenix Rising Stars were in ranked, created under LRB 4. II got a taste of CRP in ranked and I decided that Box might be the place to take the franchise. Look for Phoenix Rising Stars IV in about a month or so.
