My name is Malmir and I'm an addict...
Currently playing Goblins (shudder) for BBT. I've already verbally retired the team twice. After the first time, I vowed they were done. After three weeks, I went back. What's the worst that could happen? I found out. Again, verbally and mentally retired them (the last being only yesterday). Today, I find myself playing them again. A failed 3+ with a turnover score beckoning followed by a treble skull and I'm forced to accept that somehow I'm addicted to this pain, otherwise why would I go back? I'm not even sure what I'm looking for from this blog. Sympathy? Understanding? A help, support group? I'm about to enter them in again. Someone stage an intervention.

No. If I have to suffer so do you.

By definition someone going through addiction will have some of the following symptoms: Using more of the substance than the person originally planned,
being unable to stop using the substance, spending large amounts of time seeking or using the substance, or recovering from use, reducing participation in favorite activities in favor of substance use. Yes, you may have a slight problem. This step to reach out is the first step in recovery though - admitting you have a problem. Bravo!

If Goblins are heroin, Gnomes are metadone.
Play Halfings. 3 times per day. with a big glass of water.
Soon your body will reject any tier-3 team.
You're on the good way, hang tight.

"play Halflings" must be read as "play Gnomes".
My bad.

I find it sobering to learn what legendary coaches have sacrificed for their game. On the one hand, I respect it and on the other, take it as a warning. Thanks for your honesty.

And yet somehow I always get your good teams :P
Plough on sir, I played BT Goblins when we had to play 25 games... now obviously our abilities are vastly different but I lost all 25 games! So if I can suffer 25 you can put up with 15 :D

I'd like to think the latest cobblers would be enough to cure me. Who knows.

"I've already verbally retired the team twice."

You seem to have looked into the abyss and understand the beating heart of this roster.

Me: "I'll play with this gnome team until the fox dies"
101 games later and she still hasn't popped her clogs.

Haha. Having played Gobbos myself fairly recently, I can confirm that you are now a Gobbo abuse victim!

Sounds like someone fancies a 24-hour goblin marathon at Block Around the Clock - https://talkfantasyfootball.org/viewtopic.php?p=832589#p832589
