The problem with Fan Factor increasing is people dont want it to. It costs you TV to have Fan Factor so there comes a point where its actually just a waste of TV. Having it as a prize would probably deter people from playing in that tournament and they would choose a tournament where your FF did not increase.

Nice bit of bragging there Rags. :)
You should also say some nasty things about Brasky's mother in case you win through to face him for the heavyweight Championship. ;)
But yeah, we don't want yer stinkin' FF. It's nuffin but trouble. ;)

Fan Favorite, on the other hand, would be a nice prize for majors.

We should have this, yes. But not before implementing the house-rule 'fan factor does not weigh towards TV'. Which we should also have (it's as much a house-rule as cards, or even allowing inducements in the first place).

I think the extra fair weather fans being more of a burden than anything works quite well keeps with the theme. As for weenies who are worried about +3TV on already accomplished team tournament might benefit from the absence and attract coaches with a bit more of the grit that Blood Bowl is supposed to be founded on.
An alternative could an awesome prize (not FF) something a bit different from other tournaments, offset by a mega FF boost which would actually act as ahandicap. Whatever the prize was would prob have to temporary too, but then in Blood Bowl just about everything is temporary, so that shouldn't be too hard.
As for bragging before/after who I might face, I let the touchdowns do the talking but even that doesn't halt the flow of Unstoppabullshit

phrasing!

I like fluff. And I like rules. I like it fine when both make sense, and best they make sense together.
The fluff is that you win more, and get more fans. Good.
The rules are that you win more, and get a handicap. Debatable, but can see the point (which is why the handicap part is optional per the rules)
However, giving more of that same handicap for winning a tournament may be fun fluff, but it's bad rules. A nice tournament prize would be giving a player fan favorite (ideally for 0 TV imo). That gives you an effect like fans, and it's temporary.

Actually looking at it Fan Favorite is already part of prize package for Grotty & Ulthuan so maybe wiser heads have already thought this through

I don't like the idea of free FF for teams that win a lot. It might make sense from a fluff perspective, but I see no reason why throwns rocks and extra rerolls should almost exclusively go to the favorite in a **cough** cherrypicked matchup.

Well theoretically it would be possible to add a "Champion Bonus" that is applied to FF for the specatators roll etc. but does not count towards TV and is not considered when rolling for FF increase or decrease. However, I don't really see that it is needed. It's a rather minor and solely fluff based point, plus the prices already awarded to Major champions already give them quite an edge in some cases, no need to improve them further.
