Listen to these coaches and their words...

Maybe consider NOT having a thrower, at least to start with...
Linemen will do fine, having a thrower, is luxury not needed when you're down players... Woodies are expensive enough, trust me ;o)

As an experienced wood elf coach, I can say that having 1 fan factor is suicidal (you will lose more players than you replace), and having zero rerolls is a recipe for disaster (elves make frequent use of 2+ dodge rolls).
Personally, I start wood elves with 11 linemen, 8 fan factor, and 3 rerolls. That way, by the time I can buy the wardancers and catchers, the linemen have some skills to help out.

It sounds like that team will either soon be unplayable and I'll retire it, or I'll some how struggle along and maybe gain fans along the way.
Either way, I should learn something. Thanks for the advice, all. :-)

What they say is true :
- You don't need throwers anyway.
- Start with lots of rerolls and lots of fan factor, it's the only viable way long term.
I'll add this :
- After your first game, you should have bought neither a thrower nor a catcher, but rather an apo. Wood elves should always buy an apo after the first game (well, all races should really, but wood elves most of all because they're so squishy and so expensive).
