I'm 15 FUMBBL games into my Blood Bowl coaching career. I'm 5/4/6, almost entirely in Academy. Not terrible, though I haven't won in my last 6 starts and I'm led to ponder whether there are any trends I can examine to learn from myself.

One thing I think I've learned, and now need to apply: have a plan for every drive. Yes, adapt to the opponent's defense or offense, but first have a plan. I think I have been winging it too often.

I'm still learning, of course, the particular nature of each team, which is probably necessary to create that plan. I think nothing but experience is going to fill in that part of my game.

My final observation at this point in my career is the suprisingly subtle, deep variety in this game; not just the 21 races--though that's certainly the first level of variety--but also the many, many different ways teams can be constructed for most of the races, and the variations in the play that results. Include the many ways a team can be developed, and you have a different (and new) set of things to think about with almost every match.

Welcome to FUMBBL. Kiss your old life good-bye. :-) And keep learning, you will still be doing it after 1.000 games.

they might get you to a certain level, but after that it's playing, playing, playing against good coaches and spectate games a lot.
