I'll make the obvious answer : elves of all kinds and frogs of all sorts should suit you better. ;)

You've got to get skills on your teams to pull of nonsense, mate.
You've retired all yours after a handful of games, like, even 8-10 games in, it helps heaps to have stuff like Leap-Wrestle-Strip on Elves, Dodge here and there, BT on players, a good thrower who can long pass pretty well, it's all team development.
Give the box trophy a go, 15 games each with four teams (by the end of the year), use the ones you've had some luck with, stick it out and you'll see how much better they get at the tricky plays.

If you LIKE crazy plays sure... but you might win more by screening or using fewer dice. My favorite explanation of this game when i was first introduced to it was "You maneuver to roll the fewest possible failures and force the other to roll the most."

cheers Diablange! I’m going to give frogs and elves a go soon, they were already on my radar :D
as for tussock, retiring players/ teams was often down to a number of reasons, I have a few decent teams with skilled players irl and I’m sort of managing to find the right combos, so it’s a matter of managing to get a team going properly on here as well.
Lorebass, I don’t particularly care about winning, I’d rather pull off a Long Bomb or mega dodge a game than win :) as for strategy, I was told in my first game that the less dice roll and the more the oppo does is better, but I’m yet to master that strategy

Vampires, hands down. although maybe less so than in the previous rules. But I cannot think of another team that fits a balls to the wall play style as well. I’m not saying it’s easy though; it can easily take a hundred games to start mastering them.

Any team with stunties can achieve a wonderful crazy feat of play, just be ready to get beaten to a pulp every now and then.
Or take some rather normal team (even Orcs, Undead, Dwarves), but taking extraordinary skills or player combinations to dazzle the opponent with something like skeleton to skeleton passing game (too bad zombies lost passing ability) and watch the specs go wild when you manage to score on top of that maneuver.
