The good guys at Greebo Games have setup a Eurobowl-style tournament on Fumbbl inviting members of the Italian community, since (if you read my last blogpost you'll know what I'm on about) I wanted to get back in the game and try a team that might satisfy my need for madness, I built a tournament Slann team (
https://fumbbl.com/p/team?team_id=1090813). The blogposts that will follow will contain my thoughts after each of the six games. expect a lot of incoherent rambling ahead.
Game 1 vs. Vampires:

Overall game thoughts:
This game was quite mad. Loads of crappy dice on my opponent's side and a few good rolls for me made the score a bit egregious, but overall I think that I chose the right skills for my players and used them relatively well. Jumping on either 2+ or 3+ anywhere is really quite powerful, especially with 4 RR's. Of course this was against a low tier team, so we'll see how I do vs higher tiered teams and luckier opponents...
Player performances:
Kroxigor: The Krox was great, never boneheaded and managed to successfully blitz a couple of times, the block skill I gave it also worked really well, so for now I can't see many reasons not to take a krox in another tnmt(this opinion might change in the next matches).
Catchers: I love these guys. they jump and go EVERYWHERE on a 2+ with MA 7. basically elf bullshit with added leaping. I think they have strong potential for super-aggressive playstyles in teams with a kicker or when a Blitz! event is rolled. They could be used for blitzing by giving the other catcher guard, but I just prefer the ST 3 blitzers doing that, even though it means rolling a 3+ to succeed instead. Plus, should the blitz attempt into a cage fail you've got a AV 8+ piece in a lot of trouble.
Blitzers: They did their job in this game, covered when necessary (jump up+diving tackle is a great combo imho) and helped get a few balls out of the BC's hands. Diving Tackle is a decent skill which combined with shadowing could be great for a sacker, but I still prefer my Guard + Block blitzers for now as they're essentially my cage divers. The next matches will be a real test to see if my tactical choices were wise or not.
Linemen: I skilled two of my linos with Wrestle and I have to say they really helped in a few situations in which I needed to either access the opp's cage or simply cover my own catchers when my blitzers were elsewhere.
Overall I am quite satisfied with how the first game went, but it's very early doors and I'm sure I'll be having frog soup very soon...
