whining... is pointless. leads you nowhere, waste of time
a report of the game, sometimes in leagues.

I don't do match reports all that often, but here's one that I did recently:

I figure if you're going to do a report, you can at least try to make it humorous. Crappy whining is best not recorded for all time, leave it off the match report.

I'm not sure I've ever really done comments on my games before, pretty sure that if I did I'd only worry about what I'd want to remember since it's only you and your opponent who are going to read them most likely.

Well depends on what kind of attitude you want to put into it.
If you play someone that really made you play better and was a hard won or close match, and you feel like gratz the other one a bit more, then do it.
If you feel the other one whined that a sea could be made, then point it out and make some funny comment about it. Like direct connect games ALWAYS favour the one hosting it. Like he has the "ahem" admin client "ahem"

I went through a short period of commenting on almost all my games. I stopped doing that when I read some of my own comments later on, and they almost all boiled down to "I was unlucky so I lost" or "I was lucky so I won". No seriously, look at my commented games. ALL OF THEM are about luck one way or another. Comments like that are pretty pointless... who would want to read that? So now I don't do that anymore.

I write match reports to almost all my games. Ideally they are enthusiastic reports that gets a lot of positive response from both opponents and viewers, but sometimes they just boil down to me whining or blaming my loss on luck. In those last cases it might look pointless, but it's helpful to myself. I often check out previous matches against opponents and if I don't seem to have had a good time in any of those matches I might avoid that certain coach in the future. Or the other way around. If I have been thrilled about the matches I might be inclined to play a coach even with bad odds to win it.

I gloat in my opponents bad fortune and miserable play.
