First Ever ARR Sprint done!!
Completed my first ever ARR sprint with my Pro Elf team, the Elftown Privateers (who are also trying to complete the cycle in ELF too). Been an absolute blast and played some legendary coaches during the run and has been a great experience.

Thanks to all the guys who organise the ARR, its a fantastic group and I'm looking to enter this team or a new team in to the Fumbar Cup.

I did so so with the team, but thankfully only got completely blown out in a few games and all relatively healthy after a rough start.

Would love to get some advice from coaches far better than me as to what to do next with a couple of players.

This is the team: https://fumbbl.com/p/player?player_id=11546564

My catcher: https://fumbbl.com/p/player?player_id=11456797

Rolled a normal skill. My initial view was to take strip ball and try to make him a cage cracker (albeit drastically shortening life expectancy). But was also thinking dodge as i find he gets hit a lot, but at upper TV, im thinking he will get hit by tacklers anyway?

My thrower has rolled 11.

I remember seeing a forum thread about how 6AG makes no real difference so apart from the fun of having a proper stat freak, it is likely to be a waste and bloat TV. Do i take block to keep him standing or is that a waste too

Cheers if you have made it this far.

It's not that 6AG makes no difference (it does, when it comes to dodging through TZ, and pickups in TZ), it's that when people talk about throwers and say 6AG is bloat, they mean in terms of passing 5AG is exactly the same.

Fantastic work bigf. ARR is a cracking group and the box gets better and better with every new ARR team.

Can't offer advice on the ag6 I'm afraid. AD knows what's what and personally I'd pass and get block or sure hands but I'm no elf coach.

Congrats, that's a great achievement!

@AD: Maybe I'm being dumb, but why doesn't AG6 help with passing? A non-natural 1 would still succeed, wouldn't it? (I've never had the pleasure of an AG6 player :) )

Strip ball is great for the catcher although a) don't expect him to live very long and b) I would probably take dodge first. If your positional defence isn't great, the leap strip baller will make life easier but if you can defend reasonably without it, dodge is probably a better investment.

For the thrower I would probably take sure hands. I'm a fan of AG6 in certain circumstances but in the box, with a thrower on a team with catch and nerves of steel, the important thing in my opinion is to be able to nail the basics rather than going for the big plays that AG6 can afford.

Well done on the sprint.

Because passing fails on modified 1s too.

Anyway, the basis of "AG6 is bloat" is that ag5->ag6 does nothing for leaps, and general play outside of high risk moves. So effectively if you want the most return for it, you take it on a ball-retrieval specialist or a player who comes highly skilled and isn't losing skill slots he *needs* to take it. Or he's a vampire.

Does it? I thought it used the same agility table as dodging, pick-ups, etc. Guess I'd better try reading the rulebook then XD

Still, having a thrower that can dodge and pick up the ball in multiple TZs, then put in the killer pass could be handy. But yeah, it's costly and what % of games is that going to happen?

Oh, I see, it's in the fumble rules: 'a 1 before or after modification is a fumble'
