Reikland Reporter: Wreckers' Draft and the Hall of Wreckers
Wreckers’ Draft Concludes and the New Hall of Wreckers!

As the DLE's 14th seasonal draft continues through the third round, the Reikland Wreckers are already finalizing their roster for the upcoming 14th season of Draft League Europe.

The draft started off with a bang in Reikland as the Wreckers announced a blockbuster trade seeing Season 13 MVP and Offensive team captain Lamar Jackson sent to the Bel Air Griffins, along with the Wreckers' 4th Round Pick, in exchange for the 2nd overall pick of the draft.

Ever since the SHC Championship game, rumors had spread that Jackson demanded an under-the-table raise from the Wreckers to continue playing for the team. The team responded by swiftly sending him away to Bel Air. When questioned about these demands, Coach Grrrreindeer of the Griffins stated, "It's very bold to assume we do any kind of planning in our organization, isn't it?" So, it is unclear whether Jackson and the Griffins will come to terms over additional pay.

So when the Second Overall pick came, the Riekland Wreckers wasted no time in selecting Jackson’s replacement: Kyler Murray. Murray was listed by scouts as being a skilled Thrower, slightly slower than faster athletes like Jackson, but being more skilled in evading would-be tacklers.

Towards the end of the First Round, the Wreckers used their own pick to select Ross Pierschbacher, a lineman skilled in defending against assaults and blitzes from opposing teams. Shortly after, the Wreckers used the Eagles early second round selection to pick Lineman Dontavious Russel, a sturdy blocker to help hold their line.

As the second round continued on, the Wreckers show trading prowess as they traded away their second round pick (#61) and the Eagles’ 3rd round pick (#68) for the Sluggers’ second round pick (#50). But as soon as the Wreckers were on the clock, they immediately sold the #50 selection to the Knights to obtain Picks #54 and #65.

By moving up in the draft simply out of thin air, the Wreckers seized the opportunity by taking Damien Harris and Jalen Hurds at #54 and #65 respectfully. Harris presents as a skilled player ready to take the field and make an impact while Hurds seems to be a more developmental prospect, showing great strength and speed but little talent otherwise.

But onto the more exciting announcement of the evening: Coach Dieuraskel has announced the Hall of Wreckers! This is a list of all the most influential and impactful players and coaches of the Wreckers’ history all the way back to season one. Here to make the announcement now is Coach Dieuraskel:

”Welcome, and thank you for coming out to this momentous occasion. Today we will be honoring five of the most important past members of the Wreckers Organization who helped shape this team as it is today. Without further ado, our four inaugural members of the Hall of Wreckers are:

Oly1987, the first ever Head Coach of the then Monte Castello Wreckers. Oly began the Wreckers as a force to be reckoned with, finishing with a winning record for four of his five complete seasons coaching the Wreckers, including three playoff runs. Oly finished with a record of 36-16-21 during his time as head coach.

Jerrey Riggs, the most skilled blocking player to have ever worn a Wreckers jersey. Riggs was a killing machine initially signed by the Los Cabos Marauders late in Season 5 before Oly traded to bring Riggs to Monte Castello. For the next six season, Riggs became a menace in the SHC South, collecting 88 Casualties and 8 Kills as a Wrecker, both are Franchise records, as well as playing in 97 games (3rd Most) and being selected to the DLE Pro Bowl twice in that time (Tied for 2nd most), before meeting his ultimate end in a brutal week 16 loss to the Rangers at the end of Season 11.

Jadeveon Clowney, one of the first true Star Players for the Wreckers. Clowney initially joined the Wreckers at the 13th overall selection of the first ever DLE Draft. He then spent an impressive 8 seasons whole playing as a Wrecker, providing support to his teammates for that entire time. And the league didn’t ignore his talents either as Clowney was selected to 4 total Pro Bowls, the most of any Wrecker, and racking up 116 games played only three games behind the Franchise leader before being killed in the Season 9 Week 3 matchup versus the Flashfurt Universe. And finally,

Justin Brown, one of the most efficient scoring players in Wreckers history. Being a second round selection in the DLE Season 5 Draft, Brown would slowly become the Wreckers’ go to player when looking for a score. Brown is tied for third most Match MVP awards and is also tied for the most Touchdowns as a Wrecker. And perhaps he would have the uncontested Franchise record if he wasn’t killed in Week 9 of Season 12.

The Reikland Wreckers are proud to announce these people are true cornerstones in building the Wreckers Organization as we move forward into the Fourteenth Season of Draft League Europe. Now, let’s Wreck ‘Em!”
