Universidad Azteca Accused of Recruitment Violations!
On Early Friday Morning (Late Thursday night for the Team's local time), Universidad Azteca defeated the Kokomo Cougars 2-1 in a Non-AQ NCBB match that quickly snowballed into the Amazons' favor due to injuries piling up for the High Elves.
But the main headlines coming out of Azteca's visit to Kokomo aren't of the battle on the pitch, but of the recruiting battle off the pitch. Shortly after the match concluded, Azteca announced Fricka Iron's seeming benign injury would result in her being cut from the team to focus on her studies instead. This resulted in a gap on the roster that needed to be filled, which Azteca spent no time in filling when they immediately announced the signings of Linewomen Xochiquetzal Eztli and Adelina Santos.
Eztli was an expected signing, as she was on the team's practice squad since the beginning of the season. But Santos joining the team is where heads finally began to turn. Santos was Kokomo native attending the Cougars' University until she had a sudden overnight transfer to enroll in Azteca to join their squad.
Now, many of the students attending Kokomo are claiming that Universidad Azteca violated the NCBB Recruitment Policy by recruiting an active student of another school. Universidad Azteca declined to comment on the accusations.
