Discussion of the Bots' Offseason so far.
After a difficult season where our Bots failed to achieve the playoffs, Clamps Nation was eager to see what Coach Dash had planned to improve on the slightly above average record of 5-5-4.
To begin with, most of the roster hasn't changed with 9 players returning for Season 31. The Highlight of the veterans are the Monsters #1 Alexander Annihilater and #11 Korey "Turkey" Durkee [UDUB] as well as fouling experts #8 Beelzebot Evans and #13 Tinybot Tim. A sleeper to look out for in the returning players though is #6 Vita V-GINY, who showed promising development over the last season and has been spotted in practice seeming keener because of it while also excelling in ball recovery drills. V-GINY may be the reason that the Clampa Bay has decided to move on without a Thrower this season.
On the front of injuries, Annihilater and Turkey seems to be working at full strength once more while #16 Robot Santa Claus seems to have some sort of minor injury annoying him during practice, but otherwise fully able to compete.
During the 31st NBFL Seasonal Draft, our Robotineers had the 18th position in the draft, as well as the 5th and 9th Compensatory Picks of Pool II.
At number 18 overall, Clampa Bay selected Marc Ekker from Ottawa, a Lineman featuring a Strong body build and the same combat training of a blitzer. Now wearing #10, Ekker now adds to the Robotineers' already present massive bodies of Annihilater and Turkey.
Later in the second round, Clampa selected at #50 overall the blitzer prospect of Keaton Upshaw. The Cantucky graduate now wears #2 as one of the new faster players to help Clampa Bay succeed. But not content with just Upshaw, Dash also selected Deebo Samuel to return to the NBFL as a Ball Hawking Catcher to assist in speeding up the Robotineer Offense.
Finally, Dash took on the former Blitzer Allin Rage, a fast and powerful veteran who is sure to give Clampa the aggression to balance out their new speedier focus. Add in #9 URL jr, a faster Halfing than the previous #9 Twunk, and #12 Calculon, a disciplined Lineman to fill in the empty #12 spot, and the Robotineers seem ready to take on the AFC South, NFC South, and NFC East as a force to be reckoned with.
Go Bots!
