Looking for a quick game?
Play Ogres!*

1. All your big mens roll bonehead and stop moving, cutting down on amount of time-wasting actions.

2. All your little mens are in the dugout after one hit/slip/slight breeze, so less players to think about.

3. If any mens do have an action, it will fail, usually prematurely ending the turn.

7. Counting is for losers.

43. The most time spent in an ogre game, is you just chuckling, watching the athletes on the opposing team waltz around the pitch! (and occasionally turning into a red smear...) So it's always fun. And quick. Quick fun!

* not for those who play to win. i didn't say "looking to win a game?" ...did i? :p

You can also play Stunty Leeg -- where EVERY team is ogres.

This made me lol. I always choose Stunty if I don't have enough time, but may have to consider Ogres. let's face it, my CR couldn't get much worse.

Whilst I generally agree, I found that ogres were probably the most demoralising team to play in the box.

It didn't help for me that I faced amazons 3 times in 10 games, but if you face a slower opponent - one who is going to take 3 or 4 minutes per turn no matter what - your quick turns won't help. I'm generally a fast player anyway (usually get my turns done in a minute or so) so playing as ogres, having turns over in 20 seconds, then watching as an opponent spends 2+ minutes contemplating how best to walk past your static defence towards your endzone can really put you off the game.

playing goblins is also a good idea. like somebody playing halflings in box said:
at least this is over quickly.
with goblins it often is,too.
play stunty in the box!

Soooo play clawplomb, make some blocks, remove the opponents team, done in 45 minutes tops. :P

I've looked at Ogres a few times, its like the Stunty of Ranked. Maybe, one day...

I have to disagree, sometimes it is not that fast to play ogres

Sometimes I have very long turns with ogres, since I plan something big, which collapses halfway through because of bonehead, so I have to think of a plan B, which usually makes for a 3-min turn

Then, you have so many sidestep players that you can't even go to the bathroom in your oppo's turn, which can make them longer ;)

On the other hand, I agree it's the most fun team by far! :D
