As it says in the Scheduled Smack rules: "Bragging rights and +1 FF to the tournament winner."
So, here it comes.
This has been a brilliant bloodbowl day for me. Firstly, with some vicious blocking in the first half and some lucky escapes in the second, my elves
Dwihn Athel won their
match against Fanatic's goblins. This achieved two things. The first would have made me more excited before I reached my first Smack final last week - the Elves had just won the semi final in a Scheduled Smack. The second thing makes me ecstatic though. Perhaps due to a bit of luck in the draws, perhaps down to some luck on the pitch, perhaps even down to some small skill on my part (stranger things have happened), I gained the Winning Streak Award.
This afternoon was the icing on the cake however. I won my first ever final. I won my first ever
Scheduled Smack. Now, I'm not saying luck had nothing to do with it. But as days go, this is pretty good.
Nearly three years after I first found this site, and around fifteen months after I played my first real games, I have finally achieved two of the things that I most wanted to do.
As an aside, I'd also like to thank Fanatic and PacoSillas for being great opponents - both were loads of fun.
***Edit
Ahem. I may have become confused. Vanguard was a guy my Undead played earlier in the tournament. Fanatic is of course the man who taught em to respect goblins.
