Tottenheim Hotspur FC (2) - (2) Lifrig-Pool Luchadors
In what was surely to be the game of the round in the conference north the fans were not left disappointed. Two elf teams playing the game the way it should be played produced a nice array of skill for the crowd to observe.
In the main the game was dominated by the boys from 'Lifrig-Pool' and seemed sure to be heading towards a 3-1 win for them when an extremely unlucky failed gfi left a slim chance for the 'Spurs' to pick the ball up deep in their own half and make an attempt at an almost impossible score. With no re-rolls left the score required a pick up and longish pass to a marked lino which was caught cleanly. He then dodged away sprinted to make a hand off to another marked player who then in turn dodged to score the game tying score in the last turn.
'Spurs' manager 'hotspurstu' was quoted as saying, "This game is a prime example of luck triumphing over skill. The point we earned with this result was more important in terms of holding off a rival for a good position in the league than any hope of us coming babck to mount a challenge to runaway leaders 'Sylvani Villa. I'd like to add that if that last score doesn't win TD of the month then someplayer somewhere in the OBBA is going to have had to have done something rather special to beat it. Commiserations go to the boys from 'Lifrig-Pool' who've had victory snatched from them at the end in the most heart wrenching way, we just wish them good luck for the rest of the year and in the cups too."”
