Tiny Green Wrath is a team born of the fury that only small, easily injured, and tactically handicapped, but impossibly eager and equally optimistic creatures can generate. Fortune seemed to conspire against Tiny Green Wrath however and the team was forced into an early retirement with the death of their troll Xeno, in only the second match since the team's formation. Soon after this team captain Poogy fell into a dangerous depression and began drinking heavily and doing that thing where you don't cut your toenails with a clipper but kind of like rip them and then pull them off, that people only do when they are in a really bad place. Nevertheless salvation came as trolls are noted for their habit of finding death an undesirable state to be in. And so it was that Xeno returned to the team after some time of reaffixing his head to his body with those most structurally sound adhesives known to man - gaffa tape and blu tack. It was after 10 games into the team's career, and some heavy calculations, that Poogy realised the team had in fact only won 10% of their games to date. This was compounded by the fact that The Wrath had just suffered an embarrasing 0-4 loss to some plump over-fed halflings, and the team was looking in bad shape. That very night however, Poogy had a vision from his God, who was rather miffed that there was a trail of snickering rather than destruction, following in the wake of his mighty avatar. He foretold that in the very next match the pitch would be awash with blood, and some of it would even be that of the other team. And that from this bloody match Poogy would emerge not only alive, but victorious. Poogy was also told that should he bring his Diety's plans to fruition he would be given a great boon, with which he could bring forth even more devastation that the small amount he was currently... And so it came to be that the very next team that had the stones to challenge the goblins was khemri. An unlikely match up to be sure, as the khemri would have a distinct disadvantage from the get-go due to their martial inferiority and were sure to be hitting the field with a solely passing and dodging game in mind. I mean they have Throw-Ra's right? what else would they be doing but throwing the ball around? probably to those guardians you'd imagine, who must be inordinately suited to guarding the ball, probably wrapping it up with all those bandages they always carry around. Poogy knew he had the opposing team's number and prepared his game plans accordingly, eager to instill fear the likes of which is experienced only by pyjama clad children when they wake in the night to the sounds of a creaky tree scratching ominously against the bedroom window. Surprisingly to everyone involved however the match soon turned into a war of attrition, with casualties on both(!) sides, and soon neither team could begin the drive with more than 7 players. At the last whistle The Wrath had scored a glorious 2-0 win, and it was then that Poogy transformed. Surrounded by the ground up soup of goblins that was his team, and the broken bones that were his foes, a mighty cloud of not-necessarily-evil-but-definitely-the-kind-of-bad-that-would-let-the-lift-doors-close-on-you-deliberately enveloped Poogy and he rose up into the air dramatically. Power surged through him, coursing through his veins and filling him with strength, power, and all sorts of bad thoughts. Unfortunately however, a bird pooped on him about halfway through the process rather spoiling the effect. Nevertheless it was then that Poogy knew he had mastered the art of the "block" - sought after by goblins everywhere but rarely ever achieved, and Poogy knew this was a divine gift. As it happened the limp body of Lithping Thauthage Tathter was still stuck to the back of the mighty avatar's armour at the time though, so he was also was infused with this magical gift, making Poogy feel considerably less special. And so the boon was bestowed, and the Khemri crushed. Goblins raved, Undead didn't, and it was made known to the old world that even the strongest of teams should quiver like jello, or at least reschedule to pick up the kids from hockey practice a bit later than normal at the thought of Tiny Green Wrath. -update- After an enormously long haitus the old team got back together, and found that the rules have changed since they last played, and that these young whippersnappers in goblin teams these days can use chainsaws, bombs and all sorts of crazy things in their regular line-up! Poogy spits in disgust at how easy it must be these days, and definitely starts one of those long borish sermons about what it was like when he was a boy, and carrying firewood to school and back, going uphill both ways through the snow etc. But he isn't such a fool as to not take advantage of these new toys and is resolved to get some into his team quick smart |
