Re: Winning VS Having Fun
In response to Spyrex's blog:

First off not everyone plays for the same reason you do.. obviously. Playing for "fun" is good and all but only really works with people you know and enjoy having a game with regularily.

A random opponent generally wants to win, or destroy your team, develop a star player and so on. This includes stalling, mass fouling, constant passes, etc.

I think that's mostly the case due to the amount of games the average player plays here. If this was table-top you'd have a much more friendly match with less running up the score type feel, simply because the games take longer and you're not likely to play more then 2-3 in one sitting (there's less hostility imo).

But here on Fumbbl statistics drive a lot of players to push themselves harder to win, score big and score often. Or stall to ensure they win and increase their coach rating.

To avoid this I'd recommend just making a list of people you enjoy playing and stick to them, or join Unranked and scrounge around for games (or just play World of Warcraft like me). ;P
