The Sunday night movie is gonna have to be Blade Runner. It maybe could have been Blade Runner/Hitcher double bill but we saw Hitcher only a few months ago.
I'll never get tired of Salute of the Jugger, but my family has already seen it far more times than they consider appropriate.
I shouldn't blame Rutger Hauer for my increased Guinness consumption, but he did make it look really cool. ;)

Blood bowl was released a few years before Blood of Heroes. Rollerball is a different style but much a earlier American violent team sport movie (1975). But maybe the inspiration is simply the big tackles of American Football.
Very sad news about Rutger Hauer. A superb sinister character actor!

Most underrated movie of his: Blind fury
Surprisingly good flick with him showing his funny side for once

Ah yes, the guinness comercial has almost completly slipped my mind so cool t orecap with that hehe
And ladyhawk, is okay, so was blind fury. Oh, the early movies where the best!
Yeah, rollerball is also a good flick, but I think it would have been better if they cut maybe 30 minutes of it. I remember seeing some roller derby matches on tv maybe 30 years ago or so, and it is a cool game. almost 100 years old now I think.
Thanks for the replyes and I hope this post can throw some people into some of Hauers old disc.

I remember hearing about his role in Batman Begins and him doing a promo interview discussing his role as the primary villain.
Of course, the twist was that Batman's mentor Liam Neeson turned out to be the villain, and is was all a distraction. Amazing League of Shadows stuff :)
He will be missed...

I'll have to track down Salute of the Jugger and some of his other older films. More recently, I loved Hobo with a Shotgun!

A true great and unique voice in cinema.
I shall restrict myself to one character quote, and of course it is:
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.
And one Rutger the actor quote:
"Good guy" or "bad guy", hero or anti hero; doesn't matter to me, what role I play, only the character have something magical.
Rutger Hauer. Legend. RIP.
