So, yesterday I won a game, and officially hit Legend.
...
Don't run away just yet, this blog is not just about bragging how big my CR is. Really, it isn't. Oh, I admit, I am proud of the title Legend, even though others deserve it more, and I do care about it more than I should, but this blog is not about rubbing it in anyone's face. I wouldn't use my blog for that.
The reason for this blog is that I want to explore how the heck I even got to that point, despite my horrid credentials, and what my next goals are.
See, the main reason I've reached a CR of 168.38 is because of my glorious run with my latest Lizardmen team. Instead of mocking about with Slann, Khemri and Vampire, I have been playing with something a little bit more competitive. My
Elder Dragon Spawns have a track record of 15/3/1. Part of the run was a dose of luck - quite needed against anisdrin, for example - but I do feel like I have elevated my game a bit. The important part though, is that I truely feel like reaching a high CR is possible without coming close to ClawPOMB, minmax amazons, or other tasty cheesery. Mind you, I do not mind such antics at all, but it is quite important for me to note that it is not necessary for a good performance.
But it's also why I'm higher up in the ranks than I belong. I have never won an official Tournament - not one silly Smack. I have rarely even reached a TV of 2000+.
Heck, the last game that I needed to reach my status of Legend, was won by OT cointoss... Not that my TV-efficient halflings are not proud of that achievement - holding out
for 24 turns against Nurgle should be a halfling victory.
So, what's next for me?
* Reach the first page (top 30) coaches, which requires a CR of 170.62 at the moment of typing. Not impossible far away.
* Win an official tournament, preferably a RRR or a smack with a TV 600-700 Halfling team.
* Maintain a prime track record with my lizardmen team.
* Perform well with my WIL and WIBBL teams.
I've also got an interesting idea for a great Ranked team, but that'll have to wait, as I want to see if I can reach that top 30 first, before going back to suboptimal team builds...
Now, let's hope I can remain a Legend for a little while before dropping off!
