With a
tense victory of my High Elves over shambling undeads I have finished my first project: To simultaneously hold the first spot of the
[R]anked and the
[B]lackbox ladder. It was about 5 weeks ago, when I realized that I had risen into the top 10 of both rankings. Since then I have redoubled my efforts in the box and - not wanting to cherrypick my way to the top -
have confined myself to tourney play only (apart from 2 games with rookie teams) starting
over a month ago.
Now being at the top, I want to take the chance thank a few people, that have made this success possible:
Nuffle - who has created this great game and has smiled on me for the last month. Only through his grace, I could manage a (12/0/1) WTL-record in [R]anked and a (25/5/3) WTL-record in the
[B]lackbox.
June and her followers - going strong for two consecutive tourneys she has finally reached her last game. I have my fingers crossed especially for this one. Will she (and probably the team) be able to retire with her vampire to live happy ever after?
The LITE! crew - in their quest for lunch they have managed to be undefeated for 24 games now, including three SMACKs and a SpeedFreakChallenge.
All rats of Exodus - they are the living proof, that the RNG is broken. I mean 78BH and 74 SI suffered? That`s already statistically significant! Avalanche rolls! OMG! Well.. despite that, they have won more titles than any other of my team and now that they have finally dropped off
Goliath in a retirement home (4 rats were injured or killed in that process), they could finally stop playing those soft teams and are going strong again in the SMACK business.
Black Forrest Lynx and
Black Forrest Lion - leading the
ELFs from the [B]lack Forrest through the box - 26 games at the moment and still undefeated. Even though they were
seriously maimed multiple times, they always sprung back right on their feet.
And last but not least my girlfriend, that now puts up with my obsession for over 5 years and knows, when to pull the plug.
As a final word:
Yes, I know that this is shameless selfpromotion. I just hope you know, that this isn`t serious. And I know, that there will be coaches out there saying that I`m just the best in cherrypicking and beating up random noobs on even ground (which is also cherry picking). Well - those guys will always be there. I mainly see it as a call for other coaches to kick me off my top spot and to come to the box. Now you have a target there! ;)
