'No Whining' 145 Graduate sprint and other challenges
I just played my last match in the ‘No Whining’ 145 Graduate league sprint and I will try to use the opportunity to do a short recap about the sprint, but also regarding my other five challenges.

Year End Challenges 2024

1. Complete the 'No Whining' 145 Graduate sprint with all four Elf teams and Snots.
Even if I managed to complete the sprint with all four elven teams and even played some games with other teams to offer suitable teams for other coaches. I fear this will be the last such challenge in the 145 Graduate league and I will try to focus in this environment a bit more on learning and not so much on the quantity of games. The total number of 51 games in six weeks was just too high and finding this number of matches is pretty time consuming.

Since the focus of the group and the league is learning, I am pretty happy about the overall results (even if they are not yet fixed) I got with the elven teams. I learned a lot and played a lot of nice games with really nice opposing coaches.

2. Try succeeding in a Graduate KO cup
I lost the first-round match against soyesaucys Tree-Fiddy. So that was not what I aimed for, but even from this one game I took the experience of my first tournament match.

3. Face the challenge of the E.L.F II metagroup (and try to complete a Kondor Kluster)
While I focused on matches in the 145 Graduate league during the last weeks, I found out that this environment is not suitable for this challenge. Focusing on ‘the right’ rosters and the need to play ten games each with four teams within six weeks proved to be impossible for me. Even the effort to complete the cycle with one team was huge, but with some help from soyesaucy, who offered the last needed game against Orcs, I was able to succeed at least partially in this challenge.

4. Participate in a Royal Rookie Rumble and a BRAWLS
With all the help I could get from Nuffle I managed to reach round two and got eliminated by DoctorMidnight.

5. Head for 'one Game per day' (389 games) from registration till end of December 2024
I let go of this challenge very soon after setting it up because I noticed that – as said before – pure quantity-oriented challenges do not add any benefit. Neither to my Fumbbl / learning experience, nor to real life.

6. Try to establish and run the Elven Kingdoms league.
Still the participation is very low, and the Elven Kingdoms league did not start. New coaches are welcome to join!

What I learned from the last two month

- It is only a small step between taking it serious and beeing too competitive.
- Use the 145 group more for the learning experience. That is what it is meant to be and thus trying to play too many games there is not the 'spirit' of the group.
- Try to focus more on the quality of games instead of the quantity and chose the right group/division for specific targets.

Any comment is highly welcome.

Cheers
