Nice Play
I won't flame an opponent publicly, but what kind of player has connection issues and leaves a game for over an hour, returns and then times you out when you continue your turn?

Well, it just happened to me.

Timing out is within the rules, so if someone times me out for being slow I can't complain even though I wouldn't do it. But timing ME out after YOU leave the game for an hour and I wait for you to return? WTF. Especially given I never went over 4 minutes any other turn!

I had a similar experience with an opponent who received a phone call during which I waited patiently (no less than 10 min).

Then, I received one myself which was a very important one that I could not avoid to attend and I stated so to him. And yes, he timed me out at first opportunity.

I was so enraged that I conceded right away and add him to black list inmediately.

The worst thing about it is, it was turn 3 or 4 and he would win the game anyway, no doubt for he was playing rats vs my rookie vamps. So it was just for the sake of it...

Very annoying experience...

Very handy notes for the next time I'm being routed in a Major.

Going to try it as your tactic huh? :-;

Happened to me too, though i forget the opponent. When I asked him why he had done it in the chatbox he just ignored me and pretended like it hadn't happened!

You may only time out your opponent for being slow and no other reason. Anything else isn't allowed.

If, you did do that in a Major, you'd get banned for sure.

Fumbbl is such a decent community overall that you tend to not expect this kind of internet / online gaming crap here. Reminds me of my WoW days, or the bad part of it, anyway... It's annoying but, luckily, very rare here on Fumbbl.

Daniel, you have only 2 people on your blacklist. You might want to tell us who it's not, otherwise we'll think 50% badly of someone innocent. =D

by the way, do make sure to file a report ticket for rules violation here:

What your opponent did isn't just douchebaggery, it's against the rules of the site.

Or, you could just report his team for violating the naming rules, since it sports an italian unappropriate word in the Team Name.

Ticket to ride...
Posted by uzkulak on 2013-02-11 22:05:14
Some guy did that to me a week ago as well. Only thing is, he has now not been online since. Either he is feeling very guilty or he is in hiding hoping that I ask an admin to cancel the match. Its not going to happen though, he needs to man up.

Ah, oops, I didn't realise that you could see my Blacklist. Well, it wasn't the Legendary coach.
He is on there simply because I despise his min-max chaos dwarf blackbox team with the legendary killers and the rookies that I had the pleasure of playing.

P.S. Ticket to ride is a great game!

An inevitable consequence of the awful timeout system in my opinion.

An opponent conceded to me because I had to take a bathroom break.

I was too slow. Need more fiber it seems :(
