From the blog of "Mates":
2) He's talking about real life racism. I this case, I must disagree with this sig. Blood Bowl (and Fumbbl of course) is about gameplay, fun and socializing. I think that things like this don't belong here. There should't be anything like "you are black and don't deserve to live" or "you are racist and deserve to die". There's no point draging it in here.
Don't take it like I'm protecting rasists, but neither am I supporting anti-rasists. It just doesn't belong here.
Racists (yes, it's with a C) and anti-racists? Where you're from is racism is some sort of protected political stance? Excuse my ethnocentrism sir, but from what you've written I'd say that
wherever you're coming from with that, be it your own household or whoever's (I refuse to believe it could possibly be any solid country or regional area), has a
"primitive" way of thinking in comparison to most modern nations and cultures in the world you and I live in.
I think I can say with relative certainty that people here on FUMBBL, like those in most of the planet we exist on believe that no,
there is no place for racism and no place for racists here, or anywhere else for that matter. I agree with you on this. The other half, however, is the issue, and is likely the reason your blog entry has a dirt-poor rating.
Let me quote you once more:
There should't be anything like "you are black and don't deserve to live"
...but neither am i supporting anti-rasists. It just doesn't belong here
Do you not entirely disagree with the first statement?
You're entitled, as everyone is, to your beliefs, but the simple fact of the matter is that if you aren't "anti-rasist", then you ARE a racist. Period. There's no gray lines here. But for your own safety in real life and in order to maintain some civility here on FUMBBL, I strongly, strongly suggest you keep those beliefs to yourself.
You didn't mean to be offensive? How sweet of you, Mates. But I'm afraid you acknowledged the belief systems of people like Adolf Hitler and Slobodan Milosevic as valid and worthy of defending - or at least every bit as much as "anti-racism" is. And that, to me, can be very mildly defined as offensive.
There's no need to apologize for offending me, my friend. Neither I nor any Jewish people I know go around apologizing to white supremacists when we offend them by, you know, LIVING, and nor will we ever. In fact, if I ever had the opportunity I'd eat nothing but really strong garlic bread for a week and then go in person and laugh (very breathily) in their faces, just to show them how much I care.
Only thing I'll say in parting, Mates, is that you'd be extremely wise to never, ever do that to me.
