RNG is not only broken on FUMBBL
So long time ago someone have complained about RNG. Kinda miss it, dont you? I play League of Legends myself and also follow some streamers.

I was just half following it while browsing FUMBBL, where I suddenly hear the player complained about a damage done to him and he died. I then read the chat and well see for yourself :D

The fail is strong in this one.

Not too surprisingly, there were also lots of complaints and long threads about the RNG over at the Cyanide forums. I think a lot of people just can't come to grips with what randomness means, so they find it easy to blame the RNG.

1st. Nice to see another LoL player, 2nd that's one of the most outrageous excuses I've seen from a player on that game....

RandomOracle hehe if you know everything about mathematic probability and randomness then why don't you go to Las Vegas and start to be REACH ????? can you explain that ?

Maybe your math probability do not working at the real world, i mean not virtual that can't be other than only mathematical.

ITT: Spiro thinks knowing about randomness can make you predict outcomes.

bull crap Sutherlands, i mean, that RandomOracle is claiming that his lucky dice it's normal randomness behaviour, so i told him about las vegas
Posted by spiro on 2011-12-05 23:20:37
ps, i wanted only say that math probability only is trying explain randomness, but generally if some guy is claiming that he know something about randomness then i say : it's bull crap, because math probability it's the most unpreciselly section of mathematic, so each computer RNG is crappy and even not BROKEN, because if something is broken then first must working properly.

i hope now it's clear.

So what's your alternative SpiroBot? A Geiger counter attached to the FUMBBL server generating random numbers via the time interval between counts?? That's about the only way to get anything more 'random' than a modern RNG.

That being said, if you gave the best minds in the world a sequence of number generated by throwing dice and another from a modern RNG they would need millions and millions of numbers before one could be distinguished from the other. Therefore a RNG is as 'good' as any other option.

Also, suggesting that someones lengthy FUMBBL career has been dominated by 'lucky dice' suggests that your grasp of probability is about as strong as your grasp of English.

The only thing I understood about spiro's rant was something about Las Vegas and reacharounds. Spiro, what happens to you in Vegas should really stay there.

It's because only here we use one of the best randomizers in the world :p ...heh you remember the randomizer of civilisation? ...it will even save the randomizers results so that if you load an old game will have the same results for the same actions :)

Would be fun to see that on fumbbl. Play with open dice :)

And here we go again :D

Wreckage history is about to repeat itself :p
