I cringed when I read the article, I don't have very high hopes. I wonder if they will keep to the law already established? Also the 20th Century Fox bit at the start of the movie is part of Star Wars! When I was young I thought 20th Century Fox only did do Star Wars. A poxy little fairy flying around a poxy little castle instead........Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo as Daddy D.V would say.

I wouldn't mind seeing that Trilogy but probably not from Disney...
Also the label is pretty used up. So no point in being angry about it anymore at this point lol.

After the prequels, I'm sure anything would be an improvement.
Not a fan of Thrawn, but I'm excited to hear Star Wars is under new management.

I find your lack of faith disturbing

i was able ot get inside information on the planned star wars 7.
After the emperor is dead, a leftist communist foereign terror organization threatens the emperor,... no, the republic of freedom. it consists of wookies, sandpeople and all other guys that look weird.
Luke, who is now the bold head of the republican security council, is asked to crush the terror communist attack. Leya quit her job after her first child was born. She now lives on the planet freedomia together with Han Solo, who found god and made his peace with life, and their 11 children.
The communist attackers kill Han and take Leya as a hostage. Luke trains Jar-Jar Binks as a Jedi and tries to free Leya. They are supported by Chewbacca, who shaves his body hair (played by Cristiano Ronaldo) and swears to defend capitalism...no....freedom.
Luke gets killed by communist Sith Leader Stalinow Hitlerowski. Jar-Jar becomes the Jedi Master and trains Lukes 11 kids as Jedi. In the end battle, they are nearly defeated, but rescued by a deus ex machina coup by newly trained Jedis C3PO, R2D2, princess Pocahontas, Mickey Mouse and Han Solo, who was resurrected by god as a Jedi master to defend the american people...no the republic. At the end of the movie, they all celebrate together with LukeĀ“s spirit.
Jibba the Hat, son of Jabba, is seen as he plots a mafia islamist communist plan to overthrow freedom. But more about this in star wars 8.

@Reisender you made my day :)

They cant do any worse than Lucas did with the prequels really.
You never know they might actually make something good from it, but probably not.
Posted by WhatBall on 2012-10-31 15:39:07
Agree with Garion, they can do no worse than Lucas with the prequels and I suspect they will do better. I'll say it now, episode 7 will be better than any of the prequels.
Lucas on his own sucked. He had others helping with directing and guidance on the first three, that is what really made them. On his own, you get Jar Jar. Heck, I'd rather have Goofy!
Posted by harvestmouse on 2012-10-31 15:40:44
I think I must be the only person on the planet that thought the prequels weren't that bad......
I'd give:
4: 9.5
6: 9
5 & 3: 8.5
2: 8
1: 7

@harvestmouse
They are not that bad again if you take jar jar out of it.
But to many star wars fans, they are angry about that George Lucas does not care about canon or what authors have contributed to his universe. Heck he even has approved those books.
So if Disney does not want to step on fans toes, they at least have to make sure the 7,8,9 stick with what authors already have contributed to the expanded universe. If they do that, then surely it cant fail for them.

@hmouse. your confession is honorable, but what you confess is terrible! take out jarjar, make "ani" a bit older in ep. 1 and get rid of all those illogical references to part 4-6, then you are at "not that terrible"

@ Reisender ah haha ha ha ha ROFLE COPTER you made my day!

These are not the movies you are looking for.

You know what they say - the 7th movie in a series is always the best :/

Just look at police academy

i thought it was now accepted that 5 is the best star wars.
Yet here i see people voicing that 4 is still the best. All very 1980's.

HM, I liked the prequels too,!
Posted by Nelphine on 2012-11-01 04:26:06
6 is best, 4 is second, 5 is third
Posted by the_Sage on 2012-11-01 11:15:04
The prequels shouldn't be considered in the same light as the real star wars trilogy. Then they're not that bad, really (with the exception of Jar Jar)
Posted by Garion on 2012-11-01 11:18:41
Bladder I don't think you liking the prequels too is helping HM really, Pony lover ;)
Best to worst imo -
5, 4, 6, Willow, 2, 1, 3
God 3 was sooo bad. That was the final nail in the coffin for me.
Stuck Willow in there for good measure too, odds on Disney making a Willow 2?
Posted by DaveH on 2012-11-01 13:15:50
Well, I've always wondered if you can survive a direct hit from the Death Star by hiding in a fridge
Posted by WhatBall on 2012-11-01 14:42:48
My order is surprisingly similar to Garion's:
Best to worst -
5, 4, 6, Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, 2, 1, 3
Posted by Urrghs on 2012-11-01 15:23:40
Well; it is Disney. How can anything they produce be worse than what Lucas did with the prequels? I am not that pessimistic.
Posted by Beerox on 2012-11-01 16:15:38
5, 4, 6, 1
1 was so awful that I couldnt bring myself to watch 2 and 3 (however the Redlettermedia reviews were still hilarious)
Posted by Narlgoth on 2012-11-01 17:53:28
Do you think they'll work Jack Sparrow into it? That'd be good for a laugh.
Posted by DaveH on 2012-11-02 00:45:34
meh 6 4 5 willow 2 3 1
Never really liked Empire much, just came across as a time filler
Still, it didn't have jar jar!
