As mentioned on the recent FUMBBL Podcast by PurpleChest, I'm trying to make a ruleset whereby anyone can design and create a team that should be more or less balanced and in keeping with how the official teams were done.
The ruleset was designed by analyzing all the players in the core 24 teams to try to identify what rules seemed to be followed that resulted in the balance we have today. However, a few of the players have too much, or too little, compared to other players of the same price. While we all know and love those teams, the ruleset wouldn't allow those players (for that price! the player is FINE, but not costed correctly) - not because we don't want the core teams, but because if you create a rule based on those players it leads to much more abusive players (Imagine starting with several Str 4 mighty blow claw guard player for 110k). None of the mechanics change; the only thing this ruleset does is define the cost of players (for any stat and skill combination). I'd love to change mechanics, but that's far outside the scope of what I can do here.

We all know that at some time or other we tried to design a super cool team, posted it on the forums, and got to hear other people say 'ugh, thats overpowered/got too much wackiness/is too messy/doesn't match MY view of bb!'. Well, here, we WANT you to design teams - and I'm trying specifically to come up with a ruleset where we say YES, every time.
Together we can practice and make new races, experiment with them and play them online, and get to play all of those cool thoughts swimming around in our heads.
