Sooo....
I've finally moved into my own place a few weeks ago, and well... this internet connection is pants to be honest. :(

Sometimes it can be stable for hours at a time, sometimes it can't go minutes without breaking. So I was wondering, what options are there for me if I want to continue to play FUMBBL?

Try and play matches and hope it doesn't break....and risk getting flack from other coaches?

Go to my mates place and hope to play on his connection?

Or just give up? :(

I'm also going to get an engineer to come to look at it this week, but I'm not optimistic. :/

On a side note, I've totally given up on Cyanide's game, there's no way this connection would support it.

Thanks for any input.

Tried a 3G dongle? As long as you do not use the net very much, you should get a ton of FUMBBL games in for 10 pounds per month, pay as you go.

Thanks Murker, that's an idea actually.

If I buy a dongle then I could just reserve that for FUMBBL use. And use my regular connection for internet stuff. Does anyone have any experience using one for FUMBBL, don't wanna buy one and find out that it's no good for FUMBBL. Cheers.

I borrowed an O2 dongle that wasn't capable of playing FUMBBL, but got myself a contract '3' dongle for about a tenner a month and it gave near limitless FUMBBL. '3' seem set up to handle the data best and seemed almost as fast as my usual broadband, very highy recommended.

Must add a 3G Dongle + FUMBBL donation to the shopping list.

I've been using a pay-as-you-go '3' MBB dongle to play Fumbbl for the last couple of weeks, and it's mostly been ok. I think it depends a lot on the coverage in your area. Mine goes through rough patches where it's a bit laggy and it drops occasionally, which can be a bit frustrating. I think you can see what the coverage is like in your area on their website.

Personally, I find it's a lot better than not playing Fumbbl at all! :)

P.S. The new FFB client is SO MUCH better at handling DCs than JBB. I would have cautioned against using a dongle if we were still using JBB ...

I have to agree with you Jelly, I've never known a game to be so good at dealing with DC's. It just kicks ass, to how solid this client is. Top notch job the guys have done.

Pythrr, stop slobbering over those dongles!
